Beautiful morning for an easy 11K on icy trails, no problems from the calf strain.

About 7km this morning - no headphones, no watch, just enjoying the sunshine (and watching out for ice). Stunning down by Lake Ontario - a whole landscape in white and blue and black.

10K outside for me today. Was supposed to run farther but my legs were tired and I was hungry! Happy New Year.

It's a GORGEOUS sunny day here in the COTU. Perfect running weather for the Hair of the Dog 9K race at noon. I've done it most years for the last 10 years or so. Today was my second-fastest time, 49:42 for a 5:31/km pace. The footing was dodgy at times, but overall the conditions were great.

Happy New Year everyone! Snuck out for a nice, gentle run with some good friends this morning - a perfect way to start 2013. I also just registered for the Toronto Goodlife Marathon in May - VERY excited about this. I haven't run a marathon since Boston 2011. I'm way overdue for 26.2. Training begins soon - can't wait :).
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

Well back from Cuba with a nice tan and what feels like 1/2 my liver.

Managed to get 5 runs in during the trip, and got out for a nice 11.5k today although wow there's alot of snow in Ottawa now. My normal neighborhood route needed to be rerouted as some of the short paths I cut through to get into different subdivisions now need snow shoes, not runners. I miss the sun!!!

Happy New Year RM'ers.

8k Resolution Run on trail in Crescent Park. A very crisp morning, at least we had the sun shining through the trees - drove through several banks of fog on my way over to the park. Been a couple of years since I`ve done this event - a good start to the new year (`specially since I put my money down for Vancouver yesterday).

Happy 2013!

March 28 - Birch Bay 30k
a few in between
Nov 29 - Seattle Marathon

That's funny, I had almost exactly this thought at the end of my run! I had a great 11k this afternoon- it was beautiful out and there was this bright thing in the sky that made everything all bright and shiny... weird. ;) I ran quite a bit faster than I thought I would... I accidentally killed my iPod today and I was really pissed off. The run helped put things into perspective, though, and now I'm ok with it. If it works again, great, if not, I can use my phone if I am dying for music. The world keeps turning.

Was planning on doing a long run this afternoon, but I ended up spending 4 hours sledding and building a massive snow cave with my boys. We'll call it cross training, and even better, that was an afternoon my sons won't soon forget.

New plan is to get up early tomorrow morning so I can get 1 more run in here in the hills of Pennsylvania before we drive home tomorrow.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.
