Last SUNDAY in February

Postby Jwolf » Sun Feb 24, 2013 9:38 am

February is usually my least favorite month, but it wasn't so bad this year. Still, I'm looking forward to more spring. :)

I am off to the Sun Run clinic this morning- we'll be doing about 5K of 5-and-1s.

Have a good one, everybody. Good luck to Ian and anyone else racing.

After yesterday's very slow snowshoe run/slog, came back today with a nice road effort. 15.8km in 76min.

15k this morning. I was feeling really low-energy and so decided to capitalize on that and use the run to work on pace... kept it really easy and consistent in the first 7-8k and then ran what I felt like on the way back, for something like a 3-5 minute negative split.

Looooong run day for me today - 27 km done solo. It was so nice and mild out - I actually ran by my mother's house to ditch my gloves and one layer of clothes.

Followed that up with my first skate on the canal in a decade!

Only 13.5K today because of the damn ice-under-snow-covered sidewalks. My original plan had been for 15K, but I just wasn't feeling it today.

Congrats on the race Kathy!

I ran 5 miles in exactly 1h00. It was a great run and I'm happy it was easy even though my base mileage isn't high right now. I don't think I've run that long since Christmas. It was about time! Training for Ottawa half start next week.

About 6km on a pretty crappy day - my lungs weren't feeling the love so Jen got to lead the group while I trailed at the back :)

Did the Dion Snowshoe race this morning (report to follow)- only 7K but I'm absolutely spent now. Was thinking of doing another 10-12K this afternoon to get my miles in, but I'm totally wiped out.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Slippery slidy, due to the fresh snow on top of the ice - made it seem like a lot more...

I'm back from winter camping, and I'm just going to have to count the short snowshoe and all the shoveling I did as my exercise, as I'm all tuckered out! I also really need to get some work and other things done, including unpacking everything and hanging it up to dry. It snowed a lot overnight and this morning.

February is my least favourite month as well. And this year in the K-W area, it has not been good!! I went out again today with my friend MIke as part of his Sulphur Springs training. Two hours yesterday and a little over two and a half hours today. We ran Wilmot Line today, which is always a bit of a challenge. Today it was moreso due to the thin layer of snow causing us to slip back a bit on every step - particularly on the hills.

I had a nice run on the TM this morning- 8km and felt great. I got all inspired today as I went to a track meet to see Pat and our friend Michal (Joggler on RM) run! Great fun...
