Septuagenarian Tuesday

Postby Ken B » Tue Feb 26, 2013 6:15 am

Seeing as I am likely the most senior mewmber of this motly crew, and I am up early to get in my Tuesday run with NinjaBunny, I thought that I might start the daily thread.

Planned 60 minute or longer run this morning before Mrs. Tortoise and I have an appointment in Bramalea later this morning.

Still recovering from Sundays race, yoga for me today to stretch out these tight legs and a nice long walk with the dog. Smells like spring out there!

Some speedwork at lunch and some swimming tonight -- opted to do the speedwork outstide today: the paces might be slower than on the TM, but the fresh air will be soooo much better for the brain! :D

Great workout on a brilliant moonlit morning. Warm up, 10 x 500m @ 5K race pace, then cool down for a total of 13.5K.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Happy birthday, Ken! I'm going OUTSIDE for a run today! The streets around here are mostly thawed, so I can at least dodge around the remaining ice patches. I'm sooo happy to be out of the gym.

happy birthday ken!

I had a FABULOUS run this morning - and on the treadmill...who would have thought. 8.5 km with 7 km at tempo. It turned out that I could have run outside after all, because I had DH's schedule mixed up - and it was so nice and warm out - but still super happy with my run.

13k today in 1:23 under cloudy skies but a break before the rain comes. 8)

That's the longest I've been able to do in a while. I'm going to work up to the 90-minute mark and keep it there for a while.

5 mile trail run with a friend. we're both registered for the squamish 50k in August, and it's her first 50k so we're going to try to run together more. :)

my left knee has been getting sore while running, since my treadmill run last week. Today it is stiff. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it, so hopefully it just goes away. :/

Happy birthday!

Unplanned rest day here - was supposed to run after work, but found myself exhausted after a couple of hectic days on my feet. Spent some time gathering up paperwork for taxes instead... not as much fun as running, but at least it's done.

Bah. My Tuesday run buddy had to cancel on me. So now, I have to decide how much I really want to run tonight. (Do I want to run? Do I want to run alone? Do I want to get someone else to run with? Meh... we'll see...)
