A (Sun)Day at the Races

Postby La » Sun Mar 24, 2013 7:07 am

No racing for me, but I know lots are, so good luck!

Since everyone I know is either racing or injured, I'm going to do my 17K run on my own a little later from home (once it warms up a bit).

Wishing everyone racing a great run! My cold is slowly improving and I actually got a good nights sleep :D I still sound more like a bullfrog then a runner though but then again I'm not gonna be running today anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Just got back from a 23K loop around Presqu'ile Park with a buddy. Lovely day to be outside!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Managed 17.7K in 1:46 in the beautiful sunshine. I was overdressed for the times I had a tail wind and just right for those times I had a head wind.

ATB for me today and a 12 minute PB. Finished in 2:40 and super happy with that!

Congrats again Lisa, awesome time. I knew you didn't think you were trained enough but I had my suspicions that you would do great :)

ATB pour moi aussi!!

Despite a 5 minute stop waiting for a freight train to pass I was able to post a decent 22 minute PB - 2:52:42

I also was able to chat with or say hi to a number of runningmaniacs.

23km done! It was a great run, on a fantastic course. They've made some significant course changes since the race in august, and the new one is WAAAAAYYYYY better than the old! Tough though, took me 3:45ish. Loved it!

Congratulations Robin. You are obviously doing the right thing when it comes to your training. Not that many runners have reached your level of improvement. And besides that, your cold was no excuse for having such a fabulous PB.

I am very sorry Ken for that stupid incident that you had with the train. The ATB organizers will have to do some serious thinking about this issue ...

Congrats to everyone who did ATB today, and those who saw such great improvements! As expected I wasn't too close to my time from last year of 2:47 but given my lack of endurance training my time of 3:02 (and I should subtract 3-4 minutes from that because of the train) isn't too bad. It's not "the hill" that does me in, it's all the little ones before it. Everything hurts right now but all in all a good day :)
Whatever doesn't kill you...will still probably hurt like a son of a b*#ch!
