My understanding is that the race is scheduled for the last weekend before the lift bridge at 17K opens to nautical traffic.

9 miles is approx. 14.5K - forecasted wind of 14.5 kph.

But why go to the trouble of converting when web sites are perfectly capable of giving forecasts in metric?

Think that is a recent feature that I have noticed as well on both AccuWeather and TheWeatherNetwork .. by default it shows it in Imperial, but you can change it to Metric, at the drop down menu ....

Andy, maybe the email went to your spam folder or something. I received one about the shirt issue on Friday afternoon.

Just received the email this morning ... I guess their email system doesn't send/deliver on the weekends ...   :shifty:

I think the one I was looking at - weather.com is American - hence imperial.

ETA - I see a conversion button on weather.com now.

Me, neither. Though the move from last Sunday in March to first Sunday in April in 2016 is due to Easter. I seem to recall in years past that when that happened they moved it ahead a week (e.g., March 24-25).

Thanks, but no need. My weather app is in metric already. ;) I only made the comment because I was confused as to why people would consult (and then post) weather in imperial measures, then have to go to the trouble of converting them when the metric numbers are readily available.

I did wonder about the Fahrenheit but I know a lot of people can understand it so I didn't comment...

My race (5k) is going to be purely for the "get out and enjoy the sunshine" aspect, so I'm glad there will be sunshine. My only goal is to get back to copps before Marg's shuttle bus.

I think it's a tad early to be that smug about this, young lady!

(I have an issue with a certain group for work that I've never met - due to illnesses or burning my house down - I was "this" close to meeting them a few weeks ago - flew into Toronto and everything....when IB called to say Delilah had had a seizure and I turned around and came home.)

So, that's what came to mind when I read your post.......it's a tad early to be that smug about making it to the race! ;)

Would anyone care to share their goals for this race? I am feeling completely unmotivated and looking for something to make it fun and keep me going. Possible options are lining up with a pace bunny, or finding someone to run with. :) With Boston on the horizon and the gaps in my training, this is definitely not a race for me. More like a long run with water stations.

+1 I have done a lot of running this winter, but not much in the way of speed, so I don't know where I'm at actually.

I'm running the second half so won't really be able to pace anyone (especially not JB). My goal is sub-1:30.

Just fixed my grammatical error! Yikes! I can't believe I made that one (your-you're)

Uhm.. Andy, if you've been following my training, you know that I really have never run 4:40 for any distance - EVER!
