My workout will be weather dependent. If it's crappy/windy/stormy this evening, then I'll go to the gym for spin class. If it's nice, then I'll go for a run (since I haven't really run in about a week).

I am off today for an extra long weekend :) heading out in an hour to run for 90 mins. Distance to be determined. I have been avoiding running for over an hour for too long- my fear of low blood sugars while running has been stopping me. I realize how much I miss longer distances and decided it is time to get over my fear. I have lots of glucose tabs packed, insulin is cut back, meter packed, phone and money just in case. Wish me luck! I will report back later.

Feels like Monday for sure...hard to come back to work after a long weekend. It was a good run for running: 10 km on Saturday (don't usually run on Saturday but the weather was nice and I had missed my usual Tuesday run), and 20 km on Sunday. Lots of yard work and gardening on Saturday and I could really feel it in my hamstrings at the start of Sunday's run, but it wore off in a short time. No running yesterday, but 15 km this morning. That's the last longer run before the marathon on Sunday - I'll run some TBD distance tomorrow or Thursday morning, but nothing more than 10 km.

Sylvie - fingers crossed you feel better very soon - like instantly - so crummy you are feeling sick with so few days before your race. :(

Good taper vibes to everyone running Ottawa or another race this weekend.

Should be an easy 6k tonight (or rather a slow 6k with much whining and complaining - my legs feel ok at the moment but I suspect that will change as soon as I try to run)

knee feeling quite a bit better today... debating whether to try an easy run.

In spite of how miserable I was by the end of that race, my photos were kinda cool, and I might buy them:

ran a gentle, paved 5km with the puppy to test out the knee... zero pain. So I guess whatever it was has cleared itself out. :/ Will continue to be gentle for a few days until I'm sure!

Wow Holly, those pics are gorgeous!!! Definitely get one. :)

Yeah it definitely felt like a Monday today- it took me till I was halfway to work to figure out why there was no "commercial free Monday" on my usual Monday station. Calendar time was a bit confusing for the kids too. I told them even the grownups were thinking it was Monday today!!

I almost didn't run tonight- I have had a serious case of the yawns all day. I did 5K though, and felt SO much better after I was done!

Holly those photos are awesome!!

16km done in 1 hr 32 mins and change. My endurance felt good, my speed needs work. Diabetes behaved for the most part and did not go low. Been fighting highs all day but this is usual with intense activity. All in all I feel happy to get a bit of distance. Going to do it again by the weekend :)

What's up Maniacs?
Back home from my Panama Canal Cruise vacation this morning, after taking the red-eye from LA ... Basically, ended up doing absolutely nada since arriving home around noon, except rest, eating and catching up on some television today ... Feeling a bit of residual fatigue from my vacation, and with a bit of jetlag, hope to shake it off tonight with a good night's rest in my bed ...

Who would have thought that taking a vacation would be so tiring ... :shifty:

Some light intervals for me in the middle of a downpour along with some thunder and lightning, LOL. Felt okay except for the fact that I had to wring out my shirt every 30 seconds! Only 2 more pretty easy runs left until race day!

I was going to run home but a thunderstorm started as I was about to leave the office so I took an extra rest day.

I was able to get out for a short 4km recovery jog. My legs felt great but the Glutes were acting up.
