Muggy muggy Sunday

Postby Engmomma » Sun Jun 23, 2013 8:05 am

Headed out shortly with my peeps. Not sure if I will be able to handle the humidity. I am such a whimp.

Good luck to all the racers today including the Q10 Team riding in the Tour De Waterloo.

My friend Bob is riding with a team including Thorsten Heins (the big dude for BB).

In Winterpeg at a kendo seminar. Getting ready to head out for the final training session. Lots of activity but very little running.

14 K long run in the fog this morning. Had to stop and clean my glasses several times. Also had to change my planned route as it was so foggy once I got out there I didn't want to risk running on the country roads - visibility was pretty low. Having said that I ran along the waterfront bike path. Saw amazing spiderwebs glistening with the fog's mist and a blue and a white heron flying over the St Lawrence. Beautiful run. Wish I carried a camera with me. I was soaked from fog, mist, and sweat by the end but glad to get it in before the true heat builds in. Mother nature sure is strange this year!

Rest day, we're going to go downtown and see what we can find. If only I could stumble upon various vendors grilling up yummy BBQ ribs

15 km road run in the humid haze. Temperature was still only in the low 20s, so it's not ridiculous yet.

Stayed up too late to get up as early as I should have, so it was a muggy 10k by the time I got moving after 7am. Fortunately I hit some heavy fog in the Beaches the kept me cool till about the 7k mark. I was running on the boardwalk and I couldn't see the water - now that's foggy!

Heading out shortly for a run, planning on an hour or so.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

24k with Strider in the March Road Highlands...muggy muggy muggy, and mosquitoes from hell, but a great run that I really enjoyed. The pool/hot tub & coffee at the end compliments of Mr & Mrs Strider sure helped make it just that more enjoyable :)

Good weekend overall 53k of hills then technical. No knee pains, shin pains only mosquito bite pains. I'll sleep well tonight.

Brisk 27K on country roads. Wouldn't have wanted to be going any further or faster without water.
