200 miles less damaging than 100?

If you can run 100 miles – and really, who can’t? – then you might consider doubling that distance. Turns out, scientists say, that those who go the longer distance show less neuromuscular fatigue, muscle damage and inflammation when compared with those athletes who take the easy way out with 100 miles.

Its because those 100milers are going all out full anaerobic threshold the entire race...where the true distance athletes, those who do 200 miles are no where near as intense :D

More likely, those who are able to run more than 100 miles are freaks of nature and the rest of us are lying by the wayside nursing our neuromuscular fatigue ..... aching hips and blisters and .... and ....

It says the effects of sleep deprivation helped the 200-miler athletes, but then goes on to say that these athletes slept more :what:
2013 GOALS:

- Compete in the "Early Bird Sprint Triathlon" in May
- Run a 5km pb during the "Bushtukah Canada Day Road Race"
- Complete an Olympic distance triathlon
- Cycle > 33 km / hr during the cycle portion of a Sprint Triathlon.
- Stay healthy and happy

Races

April 28th: Manotick 10km (40:16)
May 18th: Ottawa Early Bird Sprint Triathlon (DNF)
June 8th: Riverkeeper SuperSprint (2nd overall)
July 1st: Bushtukah Canada Day 5km (18:37)
