Alice Cooper Thursday!

Postby Robinandamelia » Thu Jul 04, 2013 6:22 am

Yes I'm starting the thread so I'm naming it...I'm taking a rest day today, because I'm off to see Alice Cooper at Casino Rama tonight! The last time I tried to see him, was in the 70's and my parents said no. He was playing at the Exhibition. As it turns out, it was the concert he didn't show up for (hungover or drugged or something) and a riot broke out!

Anyway, happy Thursday all....

I'm scheduled to swim today, but not sure if the weather will cooperate for a lake swim this evening. And with the Big Pool still closed, I don't have another convenient option. We'll see.

Good workout this morning- warm up, 10K tempo, then cool down for a total of just over 16K. Started out in a very light & pleasant rain, did the bulk of the run in torrential downpour, and then finished just as the sun was starting to poke through.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I somehow agreed to go for an hour-long run and then a swim with my friend Mike- and we are meeting at 6. I'm up earlier than I am for races. :)

After running home last night (4.5k with some walk breaks), I'm too tired to do much today. But I did walk 4.5k to work today. It was tough the first 10 minutes or so, but then my legs loosened up.

It's hot, muggy, and the air quality sucks because of the forest fires in northern Québec. I'm taking one more rest day to get over the effects of the gastro bug (hydrate, hydrate, hydrate), but I feel a run coming on for tomorrow! :)

Morning!

Rest day here too!

Last night was 6.5K with the HM clinic. Despite the heat, some of my group managed to get in a decent tempo run!

Very sweaty, humid run this morning. The only upside to this humidity is that you can smell the flowers in every garden you pass. It must prevent the molecules from dispersing.

Love the thread title and the story!

I did make it to Runpub last night and ran 8 km with one of my regular running buddies. Although I wasn't exactly tired, it was still kind of a tough run, given the humidity and the smog. It felt like I couldn't get a proper deep breath, and my legs really didn't have a lot of life in them. Then I woke up this morning with a major headache, which I'm guessing is dehydration-related. It's almost gone now but I skipped the gym. Since I'm planning to work late tonight, I guess this will be a rest day. Maybe some core work and/or upper body weights when I get home tonight, but not guaranteeing it.

The plan is for Cherry, 5:30-ish, but it will be a last-minute decision depending on the weather. I don't mind if it's raining but if there are thunderstorms then the beach will be closed.

10k run done followed by 6 laps of Kits pool (1 mile). Two of those laps I did with the pull buoy. It was a great workout! I hope to do more of these kind of days with Mike now that he's committed to IMCDA for next year.

So..."pull buoy" transitions into "pool boy"?

Legs a bit tired from the bike ride last night but I do have Yin Yoga tonight.

Mike would laugh if I called him my pool boy. :)

was supposed to do my long run this morning but felt tired after 12 km due to the humidity so cut it short. Will try and squeeze it in sometime this weekend.

9km run on tired legs this morning. There was a slight rain fall which felt wonderful though :D

Got out for 20k bike this morning, didn't bike commute cause I didn't want hot sticky ride home before this evenings run. It turned out to be nice and cool today but probably better not to overdo today, still battling a sore throat that is trying to decide if it will turn into a cold or not.
