Tropical Tuesday!

Postby QuickChick » Tue Jul 09, 2013 7:31 am

I woke up at 4am today because of my cats (bless their little hearts... lol) and stayed awake with some wicked heartburn. :( Finally at 6 I got up, and I decided to take advantage of the facts that a) it was no longer raining and b) it was probably the coolest part of the day till after sundown, and so I got out for a bit over 5km. Amazingly, it made my stomach feel WAY better!! The beach was wet but there was very little if any damage from last night's storm. I can't believe the DVP is already open!

I woke up to unexpected sunshine, so I hurried my routine so I could walk to work instead of transit. I'm aiming to go to yoga at lunch as well.

Glad you got a run in, QC, and that it helped the stomach!

Did 13.5k this morning. Plan was for 10 x 500m, but I started to get a worrying twinge in my hip and glute after my 6th rep so I called it quits and jogged the rest of the way home.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Much cooler here today, only about 17 when I started running, but 100% humidity (light drizzle at the end of my run). I did 10K as 5K easy, 3K tempo (which was a slog at the beginning!), 2K easy.

(p.s. have I mentioned how much I hate the word "drizzle"?)

Morning!

I did Tracy Anderson's DVD last night and legs are a bit sore. I am doing a mix of BIXI and car as commute today. So about 1h15 on the (heavy) bike.

Have a great day

Wow, so much rain last night and more expected today (although I fervently hope and pray no more severe thunderstorms). Met my running buddy and we did just short of 13 km. Despite the humidity, it was a pretty nice morning for a summer run - cloudy and not too hot, at least at the start. Have a good day, everyone. :)

Easy 13km with pup this morning, he was in quite the peppy mood, not me. Meeting ngcaper at lunch to trade an envelope of cash for a pair of Hoka One One Mafate 2's. Looking forward to trails this weekend.

Lisa - get those cats under control! When C starting sleeping through the night, the cats would wake us up - it was brutal!

Strider - are the shoes for you? if so, enjoy!

Swim day for me - 2200 m done. Could have gone longer, but I was feeling some serious swim rage - 9 in the lane, some of whom had no concept of lane etiquette.

Packed and waiting to meet the above commenting Strider with a pair of Hoka's at lunch then off to the airport for a 1 day trip to lovely Warren, MI. The hotel seems to have a TM so I'll hop on that for a few k tonight.

Hoping the flood of people delayed in YOW due to Toronto's storms are gone by the time I get there. I heard they had cots out for delayed or diverted passengers last night as the hotels were full, ugh spending the night on a cot in an airport, I feel for them. Hope you guys are getting pumped out and dried up in the Big Smoke.

Another muggy run today. You'd think I'd be getting used to it, but it still feels like hard work. 7.75k in the park, with one deer sighting. :)

7x1K threshold @ 3:43 + WU/CD for 16K with 7 pounds sweated off. By my calculation, that works out to about 20 beers for recovery.

Yeah, I'm really hoping once we're in the new house it will be better. I think they are a) stir-crazy because we were house sitting last week in a 2500 square foot house, b) a bit confused because of all the boxes- SOMETHING is going on, and c) thinking "OMG scratching posts EVERYWHERE!!". I've covered many of them with sheets and blankets for tonight. I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon... hope that doesn't bite me in the butt tonight!!
