Monday Mountains
Anton Krupika runs on this mountain. May we all climb our personal mountain today and see it as the same beautiful activity where ever it happens to be. Mine is an inner mountain, but just as awe inspiring:

My mountain of the day is heading out for my long run in 100% humidity. It should be ok if I just listen to my body and ignore the pace on the garmin.

My mountain will be getting out for an open water swim this evening.
Beautiful and crisp ride to work this morning. My quads are still killing me, but the exercsie feels good.

I had 60 min of elliptical plus TRX v-ups. I close my eyes and climb mountains or do Badwater. It was extravagant and pain free calorie burning, endorphin manufacturing.

After such an inspirational first post, this is a little embarrassing but..... Uh.... Rest day.
Re: Monday Mountains
Thanks for the post Spirit! I think my mountain will be getting through the day! But it's a short week (taking Friday off), so all will be fine, I'm sure!
Gym day for me. 30 min on the elliptical, 15 min spin, followed by lots of stretching and strength.

Longs Peak? I know AK's new movie was shot at Longs. My wife and I hiked it in 2010, our first 14'er via the Keyhole route...my quads are still sore thinking about it...and boy would I ever like to go back.
Restday...a great weekend of running with Strider for 31k & 22k respectively. I feel surprisingly fresh today but will enforce some rest.

Me too. But this week has a mountain ahead... the first time marathon training takes me into 'longest run ever' territory coming up on the weekend with a 23k long run.

Re: Monday Mountains
I cut my run short at 8k. It was just too humid. Considering I was thinking of not heading out at all for a while there, I'll take 8k.

Feeling pretty good after yesterdays race. Going to get out at lunch for 10km before it rains! Have a great Monday.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Re: Monday Mountains
What a beautiful picture! My mountain today will be getting things done at work. I'm leaving Thursday afternoon for a family reunion in BC, and won't be back at work until Wednesday morning, in the middle of a very busy time. So it's a challenging enough mountain... DH will be staying home, so at least there isn't the usual frantic combination of trying to get everything done at work plus get stuff arranged at home (notifying neighbours, cat sitter, etc.).
Haven't checked in for a few days but the running/exercise has been going well. Yesterday was the first 30+ km run since the Ottawa marathon at the end of May and was just over 30 km long. Planning for 32+ km in two weeks, but will be missing my long run on the weekend in between (see above reference to family reunion). Today was a gym day - 30 minutes on the elliptical followed by a small amount of upper body weights and core work. Planning to do a little more of both once I get home tonight.

Re: Monday Mountains
Today’s schedule was for a rest day, but after a good LSD yesterday and the fact that I’m feeling good today, I’m kind of chomping at the bit to get out for a run. Today’s post is motivating me as well, let’s see how the day unfolds.

Re: Monday Mountains
My mountain today is patience: my injured tendon is feeling so much better that I want to get out there and run. But the wise thing is to take today off and enjoy a moderate run tomorrow. Can't climb a big mountain all in one go, after all.

Monday Mountains
My mountain was a great view on a test tri workout - 1100 m open water swim, 30 k (flat!) bike and 6 k run. All but the run felt great.

Re: Monday Mountains
No real mountains appeared on my street today but I did make it out the door, which was a mountain in itself. Did my 3 min walk, 4 times 2 & 1, 3 min walk. Everything hurt today...but things look better from on top of the mountain.

Re: Monday Mountains
4 miles outside tonight for me.
Re: Monday Mountains
Just a small little 5K in the greenbelt for me, but I did set a PB on that route so that was good news. I'm getting more comfortable pushing my pace on the trails so I think I can consider that a bit of a small mountain
Re: Monday Mountains
Mountains in Medicine Hat, I don't think so . I am going out for a short 5km run once I get home.
If you have to ask me why I Run, You probably wouldn't understand!
Re: Monday Mountains
No mountains, just a lot of construction detours on Harbourfront. I can hardly wait till it's a decent place to run again. 7.5 km at an easy pace for me today.

Monday Mountains
I climbed mountains of legalese today and also a mountain of cat hair as I gave my condo its final clean and polish for the new owner. It's a sad day, but settling into the house will be exciting. We discovered a kick-ass rubberized track about a mile away! No run today, but I'll get out tomorrow for sure!

Re: Monday Mountains
no big mountains for me today, just a molehill: forcing my butt out the door for a run after work (which I've been struggling to do). I waited until 8pm so that it wouldn't be so hot for the puppy. We did 5km, but it was still pretty hot for him... he's panting away on the kitchen floor now. I think for the next one we'll try early in the morning, before work... seems to be much cooler then.

Mission accomplished, an easy 7.2K just done after the kids went down for the evening. What a nice evening for a run.
