What's Up Wednesday?

Postby RA. » Wed Jul 31, 2013 7:27 am

Got out for 5.7k this morning. I had a faster running partner, but my legs still didn't want to go too fast. But, slowly getting there.

Going to bed last night, I felt so tired and beat-up that I didn't set my alarm, figuring I'd skip my run this morning. However, I felt much better on waking up, so managed to squeeze in 4.5 k of modest hills before DH had to leave for work.

I'll be running early today, and then packing up for a long trip. Tomorrow will likely be a rest day. :)

Got in 6x800m @ 2:55/2:56 [3:39 pace] w 400m continuous followed by a 90s rest and a 75s 400m dash [3:07] last night. Was having problems on the recovery 400s as the group was 'not' recovering.

Easy 10k + weights tonight.

Plan on 10km at lunch followed by an hour of weights/cardio class this evening. Happy Hump Day!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

The guy I work with just went home sick so I have to take over one of his conference calls now over the lunch hour. No biggie. Looks like just a weight/cardio day :)

My original plan for today was a 40-min run with 20-min at tempo pace. But after my fall yesterday, I'm not sure whether I have it in me. Maybe I'll have a nap and see how I'm feeling later.

Stayed at home this morning instead of going to the gym and did some upper body weights and a core work out. Planning a belly dance class tonight and hoping to drop by the pub after. I am 90+% packed for my BC trip, will put in the last few things tomorrow morning and then work a half day before my 3:00 p.m. flight. Hoping for decent weather in Chilliwack on Friday so I can go for a run in my sister's nothing-but-hills neighbourhood before we leave for the family reunion. Getting pretty excited, can't wait to see everyone. :)

An easy 9K for me tonight. It was way hotter outside than I thought, but I kept my pace nice and slow so it was manageable.

11k done trying to explore new (to me) trails, but still closed because of the flood. Very sad to run past houses that have a yellow sign saying "this residence is un-inhabitable". :(

Had planned a long run today but was up all night with the headache, fever, throwup flu. I am just about well enough to go for a walk tonight thanks to Gravol and tylenol.

I ran an easy 7km in 45 minutes. It was pretty warm here in Medicine Hat. I was even able to complete my back and legs workout! :)

Out to Sunnyside. Warm with light rain. Took a route I thought would be slightly shorter but it was actually a quarter kilometre longer (!). But it avoided the mess on Queens Quay. The pool was splendid, nearly empty just because of a little light rain. What, afraid of getting wet? :P It was warm enough. I did 16 widths in total. My wife did 40, and faster than I can – she did 18 in the time it took me to do 12. Oh well, I can outrun her. :P
