Struggling Sunday

Postby La » Sun Sep 15, 2013 7:04 am

Having a really hard time getting myself out the door this morning. 32k on the schedule. I guess that's why.

I'm just plain struggling - no particular reason.
Maybe a therapeutic bike ride later is in order...

Nice steady 10km for me. Finding the time to ride more is proving to be harder than I thought, so it's back to more running for me.

Trying to psych myself up for a run shortly. I am hoping we will do the route that has an option to hop on skytrain if I'm struggling.

Milton Half Marathon today. 1:42:59 for a 2 minute PB. Amazing what a low mileage week and a couple of days of rest can do!

A 25 km long run today. It wasn't easy after 40 yesterday, but I expected it to be harder.

Did not particularly want to get up and out the door today either, but managed to run 35 km and in the end it felt pretty good. At least the weather was pretty much perfect for a long run at this time of year. Laundry and some general clean-up on the schedule for the rest of the day, now that I've eaten and been lazy for a while.

59km on the bike done. It was ridiculously windy and it felt like a battle the whole way. Legs feel more tired than they should after that distance. Got home and laughed at myself when I looked in the mirror. Face was black from all the dust!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Struggling Sunday is right. I just want to hibernate today, but too many commitments. :(

11km trail run this morning with my sunday morning group (this is one commitment I'm thinking about eliminating... but I need to find some trail partners my same pace so that I don't stop running on weekends...).

25ish second (I think) PB at the Erie Marathon this morning. It was a tough one for me- unsettled tummy from about 15km on, but still managed to hold the pace fairly well. All in all a good day. Report to follow................
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.
