Long run day today.... Long run is still relative: 4.5 miles today. Beautiful day. Sunny with a little breeze. Enjoying crunching some more data. I think I will start a little log to keep track of it.

Re: Race Day Sunday
Tough-ish 21 km for me. The combination of running yesterday (Saturday is usually a rest day), being out late last night, and this lingering cold made it difficult to find the mental to get out there and about halfway through made it difficult to stay out there! But overall I kept a good pace and am glad to have put in the effort.
Devoting the rest of the day to various chores and (I hope) making it an early night.
Have a great day, everyone.

Re: Race Day Sunday
21 miles on a lovely fall (but more summerlike) morning. Finished w/ a strong last 7kms of our marathon route & decided I'd give the race a go next month. My mileage hasn't been as high as I'd like but I'm hoping the gains I made in the winter spring & a home course advantage will make for a decent race! It's the race's 10th anniversary & I LOVE the course - should be fun, if not fast .
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

Stampie: Just saw that you crossed the 1/2 in 2:07. Well done, man!
I ran 18.x in 2-hours flat. I ran the first 30 minutes on my own, then met a friend (BG1) to run the next 90 minutes. We hadn't run together in a while so it was nice to catch up.

I crashed last night, and slept for about ten hours. I had a slow morning today, and then went for an easy 10 km this afternoon. Now I have ribs on the barbecue, and it's a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon.

5km this morning with a friend who I haven't run with since last year.
Went to cheer at a race.
And then took C-Moss and Sasha out for an
hour romp in the woods.
A glorious day...topped off by dh making dinner

Re: Race Day Sunday
Easy 8k in the beautiful afternoon sun. I thought I was done with that type of sweat drenched run for this year, but I was glad to be proven wrong.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.
Re: Race Day Sunday
Legs were (upper quads) were very fatigued and sore after running (racing) 14.4km of trails yesterday. Decided so ride on the flat rail trail for about and hour. Ended up riding for about 2hrs as I made a detour into my favourite conservation area for some mtb'ing as my legs felt pretty good riding. So all in all about 35 km riding today.

Re: Race Day Sunday
what was supposed to be a normal 1-hour run this morning turned into a nearly 2-hour trudge in the rain because one of the girls in the group wasn't able to keep up.
My cold *was* getting better, but now I feel worse again. :( staying curled up in my jammies for the rest of the day!

Re: Race Day Sunday
10K for me around the neighbourhood and into the greenbelt for a bit. My legs actually felt a little heavy today for some reason.
Overall the run was decent except for that Garter Snake (that I thought was a stick) that decided to move as soon as I got to within 2 feet of it while I was in full stride. Geez snake, you have to give a guy more notice than that! Are you trying to give me a heart attack or a broken ankle? And then to have it happen again 15 minutes later? Ridiculous!!!! LOL
