Just a quick question , don't know if anyone can answer but here goes.
Is it wrong to run along the paths of a golf course?? Is it illegal??

It depends .... Is there some sort of sign that specifically says "No Tresspassing", etc ?
In Kanata, there are some Private Golf Courses, in and round neighbourhoods, that due to some sort of Agreement with the City or whomever, will allow access to their paths, in the Fall/Winter, once the golf season is officially closed .... Then there are some that have a fence / security around the entire private lot, which are likely closed to the public, all year round (??) ...
You could probably just go, and/or call, them to verify ??

This. When I lived in Kingston I used to run on a couple of courses during the fall/winter/early spring and found that some don't mind at all, but others do not want you out there no matter the season. Asking removes any doubt.

I don't run on golf courses but Kingston has a beautiful garden style cemetery...I phoned and asked if it was okay if I ran on the paths and I was happy when they said yes.

I would think it is private land and therefore could be viewed as trespassing. I would call the club house and ask. I would imagine they wouldn't like it too much during regular golfing hours (liability issue) but maybe off season would be fine.

Potentially dangerous for you as well. Being clocked on the head or body with a golf ball can harm you or worse.

It is illegal in the sense that its probably private property.

Incredibly inconsiderate at the very least.
"Trespassing" includes using any property you do not own for a purpose for which you have not been permitted to use it. So probably illegal too. Go run somewhere else.
