After running only 7 km with Quick Chick on Sunday (and as she noted, they were a slow 7 km dodging ice!), I took a rest day yesterday but was back to the gym today for 6.4 miles on the TM. A little bit of progression in there but mostly just a race pace run. It was tempting to run outside, but after a late-ish dinner with a few Maniacs last night, I didn't trust my stomach. My legs felt fresh so it was a good run. Thinking about a double tomorrow, but that will depend on how much snow needs to be shoveled in the morning. The forecast is for 2 cm overnight, but it's amazing how often that's way understated.

Have a good day, everyone. :)

Just over 5km this morning - roads and sidewalks were slippy this morning.

Barftastic workout for me today- 12K with 4 x 1200m at 5K race pace. Roads were wet but not icy, which was nice for a change.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

4 miles done with the pup.

I'll be spending the day at our downtown office today, which is always a fun change because I get to see the other people I trained with back in June when we were doing our licencing exams. Theoretically I can work in our downtown office whenever I like, but it's not home. :)

I had some tightness in my left calf after Saturday's long run, so I skipped Sunday. Monday is usually a rest day, so I didn't know how it would feel today... and I felt totally amazing! My 8 km run went so well that I don't know what to say. :D

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

I ran 9km in Edmonton starting in old Stratcona. I ran down towards the Kinsmen Sports Center. I stopped at the Running Room on 109 st. ? Perfect running weather. I wore a toque but I didn't really need it this afternoon. Tomorrow night I am going out with the Running Room crew. :)

These are the times I wish I had a treadmill - this ice is a serious pain. I barely managed to stay upright just walking my son to school this morning, so no running for me. However, I had a challenging yoga class last night (illustrated that I REALLY need to continue with yoga - my flexibility is rubbish!) and then walked about 4.5k home from work today.

Fortunately, a coworker has brought an elliptical trainer in to work and set it up in a back room, so I may take advantage of that to fill in some gaps on days too icy to run.
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27
Upcoming: Toronto Women's 5k in May, STWM Half in October
