Going to try and get out on the snowshoes today, yesterday's shoveling got in the way...

Another dark & cold 14K (-26 WC -31), this time with 12x30s strides. Got to see Jupiter going down in the west at the start and Venus coming up in the southeast at the end.

I noticed Venus rising too- it was brilliant!

Had to cut my run a bit short this morning due to having to be at work an hour earlier than normal- did 10km with 8km at marathon pace on crunchy snow covered roads in Presqu'ile Prov Park.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Good Morning!

A tough, but not unpleasant 9K last night at run club. The snow had stopped, and the plows were out, but there were still some roads on the route not plowed yet. Those were especially hard! I kept it slow though, and really quite enjoyed the run!

This morning was a 10K treadmill run with 7X 3min hills @ 6% incline with 2 minute rest. Then I finished off with RP and two more 2 min hills@ 4.5% incline. That was a great workout! Stretching and some upper body, as well as a 3:22 stair climb to my condo!

Home with a sick girl today after getting over my own cold earlier in the week. We had a rough night overnight, but since I didn't have to rush to the office, I snuck out for a quick 2 miles outside before DH left for work. Nice to get in a bit of fresh air after several days of hibernation.

Blah is right. Taking an unplanned and unanticipated rest day from running. Shoveled snow last night, didn't sleep that well, and really couldn't drag myself out of bed this morning. I have a lot of things to get done this evening so no time for a run. Oh well. I'll try to fit in some weights and core work at home. And maybe when the weather improves I'll be able to slip in an extra run or two.

Not posting my planned workout because whenever I do, something gets in the way and it doesn't happen. I will involve running indoors.

Blah Thursday

Coldest Feb 6 on record here in Vancouver (it was about -8 this morning). But with the clear skies, sun, and no wind, I actually found it pretty nice out there. I ran with my friend mike along False Creek and we did 13k in 1:11 with 10k at tempo. Very nice!

Blah is right!! I did just over 20 minutes- I was super frustrated and cut it short. I made the mistake of running by 3 schools around dismissal time- I couldn't run on the road safely, and there is so much snow that the sidewalks are like tunnels! When there were people in front of me (LOTS of people), I had to walk till I could go around them. The footing was OK in some areas, but it was brutal in others. I am just generally very, very excited about SPRING!!! On the positive side, I did it. And... nothing hurt.

Blah day dragging my ass at work from lack of sleep. But it got better when I went for a run! 16k with 13k at goal HM pace. Might be too ambitious. Felt good, though.

I'm confident I could do that pace for half the race. :) I hope the first half hour of the race feels easier than it did today.

6 miles for runpub, followed by yam fries and hot chocolate with baileys.

I'm looking forward to spring when we move back to our summer runpub location... the winter location doesn't have as good of food. :P
