Good Morning! An easy 12K this morning. It started off cloudy, but the sun came out, and is still shining! :D

So now I've done it... After saying I'd NEVER do the Scotia Waterfront full course again... I'm doing it. As a slower pacer though (4:55). I was directed to this opening by Canalrunner, and I know the fellow who organizes the STWM pacers, so there you go. Coolest part? Outfitted head to toe by the pace team sponsor Brooks. Little worried about the shoes, but I'm sure they'll fit me with something that will work. And I see Sylvie is our 4:40 pacer! :D

What should be fun about this one is the number of first timer's I'm likely to have! :D

Hey, Lisa, that's great news!

I haven't checked in here for a few days - busy and also I haven't been running (thank heavens for the elliptical). When I saw my ART guy last Friday for what I thought were PF-related issues in my left foot, he said it was actually a nerve issue. Interestingly, I had been reading something on-line a few days before, with a title like "Do you really have PF?", and it mentioned that nerve irritation/damage could cause pain in some of the same areas. The short version of the long story is that he recommended that I take a few more days off, use ice and A535 on the area, and work on loosening up the tissue surrounding the nerve. So until this morning I hadn't run since June 8. This morning was 10 km on the roof track at the gym. I did have some discomfort near the start of the run, but it wasn't the same kind of pain as I'd been experiencing before that, and as usual it was gone within 2 km. I have another appointment today, and I'll keep wearing the Strassberg Sock (it does seem to help) and using the A535. But I hope that with this improvement I can start running regularly again. Good thing Hamilton isn't until the beginning of November.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Actually dragged my lazy butt out of bed this morning - I am pretty proud of myself. Planning Hot Yoga at lunch except am in a holding pattern - Darby tripped in gym and fell on her arm. She said it hurts, but not as bad as it did when it first happened, so she will let me know if it gets worse.

SpinPub: since my AT is still sore, I'll head to the gym for a spin class again this evening, followed by a visit to the pub.

So excited to get out there that as soon as I got the ok, I was heading out the door, even though it was almost noon and I have done zero warm running this year. 4 glorious kilometres!

Nine happy years already! We're keeping it pretty low-key this year, since C is working all day, but I'm making her favourite pie (and I'd better get going on that!).

I set the alarm and got out for a 4k run before work this morning. Now, if it doesn't rain, I think I'll go for a walk. Maybe I'll also pre-pack my suitcase to see how much room I have left in case I do any more shopping.

30 mins on the rowing machine this morning and then 5K with the group this evening. Well, OK, in the dust of the group this evening. First run since Cabot Trail almost 4 weeks ago and the hip wasn't too bad.

I haven't been updating in the daily thread enough....
I had a really nice run with my friend Chantelle today- we did 8k and it felt really good. The rest of the day I spent stressing about my job situation which SHOULD be settled soon. Fingers crossed! Wine is helping now.

I joined the vanrun group for their wednesday night intervals tonight. I've been loosely part of that group for years but hardly ever go. their intervals are a bit weird. It's just 500m fast, 500m slow, and also one 1000m fast in the middle, etc. Total of 10km, but the overall time was really slow because there was a lot of standing around between intervals (I'm not sure why they take such long breaks... at first I thought it was just to regroup but then even after everyone was there we still stood around for several minutes each time...).

Even though it was a bit weird for a speed workout, it's good for me to push the pace once in awhile since I don't normally do ANY kind of speedwork. So it was still a good workout for me.
