Back at it Tuesday

Postby erinmcd » Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:21 am

So, back to work after a long weekend.............

Also, back to running after 4 days of not running- we spent the weekend camping on a little island, and I couldn't be bothered to paddle back to the mainland to do any runs. Felt so good to totally turn off for a few days.

10.5km this morning on road on trails, with a few hill repeats.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Peppy but not tempo. That describes my run this morning. 10K with the first half @ 6:13 pace, but worked the second half down to 5:40 pace. That's about as tempoish as I get these days! :? It really felt good though! It was strong and steady the whole way. Followed by stretching and strength in the fitness room.

Back at posting for me - have been reading, but haven't updated! I did 20 km on Friday - it was my longest in a long time and felt tough but I'd had a rough night and early morning. A bit stiff Saturday, but a 5 km with the stroller shook things out and I took Sunday to rest. Yesterday, did 6 km solo and then 4 on the treadmill this morning since C was up early and F was still snoozing. My bootcamp moves inside for the year starting this afternoon - sad to say good bye to the giant hill.

Hilly 9km this morning. Had to start off wearing a light because it was pretty dark this morning :(

I think my resting finally caught up with me - the way that I want. Slightly less humid too...

2 x 1mi @ 6:07, 6:11 (3:48-3:50) w 3min rest, (tempo/LT)
2 x 1km @ 3:37, 3:30 w 2:30 rest (race pace)
400m hard/200 jog/ 200m hard/ 200m jog/ 200m hard (mechanical turnover)

+ w/u + c/d

All in all very happy. I never got crazy fast but I felt in control. And despite not feeling crazy fast, that 3:30k is my fastest since January

Soggy 11.8k in 1:12.

There were seven of us tonight, I think we all spent the day checking our emails to see who was going to be the first to wimp out on a soggy run, none of us wanted to be the first to wimp out but we were all waiting to jump on the band wagon. Nobody broke so we all had to show up
