Slippery Saturday

Postby ian » Sat Jan 24, 2015 11:57 am

Stupid icy here this morning but I stayed upright for 36K. I did get smacked in the face once when my running buddy flailed for balance going around a turn.

Its only slippery in certain parts here, and they are generally easy to avoid thankfully! 28k for me today. Great conditions actually. Cloudy and -3c. I'll take it!

Nice out here...not at all slippery and in milder temps. Did an easy 11.5K with the group. Now curling and then soccer for my personal triathlon today.....

Stupid icy here too. I managed to stay on my feet (barely) for 24k. I was hanging onto tree branches a few times going down a hill covered in ice from a natural spring coming from the sand cliffs.

Well ... that was fun
It wasn't quite the monsoon we had yesterday but it was definitely an extremely wet run. After 9k of running in the rain we modified our plan to a circle route so we could avoid a long train ride.
The gals were doing 19k but I bailed at 16k when we passed by the 29th Ave skytrain. I felt guilty as I caught a glimpse of one of the gals trudging along the path as I rode by on the train but my legs just didn't have any more life in them.

2 hour trainer ride this morning. We did mostly steady state work, with two 3x3min hill segments.

I did 10k in blazing sunshine and warm weather today. A little slushy underfoot in the side streets, but the river pathway was blissfully clear. I wore too many clothes and too little sunscreen, and I won't complain about that in January!

Glazed crust over packed snow, plus lots of puddles and slush - should have kept my screw shoes, they would have been perfect. 10 km and a filthy, filthy dog to throw in the tub afterwards.

Hi guys!

Finally got over my Caribbean cold so I celebrated by going for a run :D

It had been so long since I last run so I only went for 4 x 6:1. It went well I was happy to run again.
