World Nutella Day Friday

Postby ian » Thu Feb 05, 2015 11:00 am

(it's a thing)

Shortest run of the year: about 1 minute total. Nothing catastrophic, but just felt worn out from a busy week at work and the last month of training. With a week and a half until my race, I'm better off with some extra rest than with a few more miles.

As for the day's occasion, for those who actually like the stuff, I recommend the generic brands: same taste but a much smoother texture that doesn't separate or gum up over time.

Is it Friday??? I wish.
Drama at home today... Now I'm relaxing and recovering before I have to go to work in the afternoon. I will probably do a treadmill run around lunchtime.

Where did Thursday go? ;)

No run for me last night after all - the doctor was running late, and by the time I was done, going to the gym was not nearly as compelling as going home to see how my cat was recovering from his Tuesday dental surgery. He was still a little subdued, but this morning he was pretty much back to normal. Asking to play and stealing our female cat's treats! Anyway, I ran 10 km on the indoor track at the gym this morning and it felt pretty good. For the last half I was doing 10s and 1s - nice to be extending the running part!

Since I've had so little exercise this week, I think this weekend I'll try running two days in a row. A short run on Saturday and a long run on Sunday. It may be tricky given the combination of weather, my father-in-law visiting from Ottawa, and likely some extra time at the office. But I'll give it my best shot, and if the weather is really crummy, well, I've done my long run on an indoor track more than once.

Have a great day, everyone. :)

I'm still concerned about Ian.
But then, he is a physicist and I am an engineer.
I suppose I could accept a day change.

Told you I was worn out... If only I could bail on work as easily as I bailed on a run.

At one point today I was thinking it was Wednesday so I guess I'm happy that it is actually Thursday.

Tonight was our regular Thursday night 6k run in a small monsoon, we have been spoiled for the past couple of years as we have been able to do most or our runs between rainstorms but no such luck this year.

I've been mixing up the days all week, and my mother even thought it was Friday yesterday as she texted me in a panic when I hadn't arrived at her place after work (I told her I would come over on Friday).

Anyway, now that it IS Friday, my workout was a shorter-than-planned 4.4K run on the TM before work.

That is all.

Happy (Nutella-free  ) Friday!

Well, I missed Thursday on RM, so I can chime in today on the thread! Yesterday - we moved! Lots of standing around, some box lifting, no running. Today, 8 km in the chilly sunshine. More box lifting.
