Do I go with the Adorable Vertically Challenged Lisa...or the Zesty Old Geezer Ken. :D

I can't decide...I have a feeling this is going to be a race day decision for me

Especially since you are both a vertically challenge AND a zesty old geezer yourself! [ducks for cover]

Actually, he's already passed her. He crossed the 5K mat at 11:43:57 and she crossed at 11:45:30!

Ken tends to run slower in the second half. I still have faith in Lisa. :) She'll keep steady and pass him later on. 8)

Ken passed 10K at 12:13:22 and Lisa at 12:14:32, so 1m 10s between them.

I am Purdy sure that Lisa will finish Boston strong.

Since started behind Lisa, this means the Shadow is starting to cast on LIsa as Ken catches up. He is falling into her trap.
The longest journey begins with a single step.

Given my earlier estimate of the offset between the corrals (40 seconds), it might also be possible that Ken and Lisa were/are running together for some portion of the race.

Not quite — the mats are every 5K plus one at halfway. The 0.01K updates are estimates based on average pace so far; later in the race, you'll see many runners "stopped" at 35.00K for a few minutes.

After you pointed that out, I was wondering how Lisa even had a chance of staying ahead. She originally estimated she would be 5 minutes ahead at the start and had figured Ken would pass her at the halfway point.

I must have missed it somewhere or ken didn't say what his planned pace will be. It sounds like she knew it would be faster than her planned 6:00/km pace.

Bad me, I just spent several minutes watching the computer while Ken and Lisa crossed the 30k mats.

Ken hit 30K at 2:57:29
Lisa hit 30K at 3:00:56

so, she's 3.5 minutes behind him with 12K to go.

Doesn't look like it because none of their splits are the same in real time.

At 35K Ken is still in the lead. He hit the mat at 2:48:22 and Lisa at 2:49:30, so 1:08 later.

You're right - I was thinking there was 1:30 between them at the last check-point, but it was 3:30 at 30K, so she really has closed the gap!

The "predicted" finishing time for Ken is 3:32:04PM and for Lisa it's 3:33:19PM, so only 1:15 behind.

She made the pass!

At 40K, she crossed at 3:20:35 and he crossed at 3:22:12!
