Early start Wednesday

Postby purdy65 » Wed May 06, 2015 7:29 am

HA! I thought I'd get this thread going early so we don't miss another day!

Run commute today, and it was a gorgeous one! I didn't sleep great last night, so I wasn't sure how the run would go, but it was really nice! If only we could have May/Sept weather all year around!

16K along my usual commute route.

Time to get back into the routine! I have run a total of three times since the marathon on April 26 - 10 km on Sunday, about 3 km on Monday (unplanned jog on TM at gym to catch up with a gym buddy), and 10 km this morning. Gorgeous weather this morning and it was so nice to be out there, just running for fun. My next race may be the Road to Hope marathon, but that's not until November, so for the next little while it's all going to be running for fun. :)

Congrats to all the weekend racers!

Beautiful day for running, though of course that makes the trail a bit busier. 8.5 km along the waterfront at a tempo pace, 40 minutes neat. I'm up to almost 100 km over the last 30 days! Of course I'm going to put a bit of a kink in that with a wine-touring vacation this month, but we all need a break every so often.

planned 12 miles on the seymour valley trailway. Got out there and it was so lovely out, and I discovered that I am not mentally capable of going *almost* to the end of the trailway.... I had to go to the end to stretch in the sun on the beach, then continued up through old growth trail all the way to Seymour dam, where I got water from the fountain before heading back.

Ended up with 16.3 miles. But since I hadn't planned for that, I didn't have fuel or water with me and I bonked in the last 5k, but that's alright... it was still a lovely day! :)
