Muggy Sunday

13 km done; I had no energy what so ever. It's hot and humid out here which I am sure did not help.

11 km on a very muggy morning.
Ran around RMC point...up Fort Henry Hill...around the base and back downtown.

Lovely day for 16 km along the lake shore! Bands of fog kept it cool and refreshing.

Congrats to everyone who ran the Sporting Life 10k today. One thing, though. I'm sure that the people who need to read this aren't on this forum, and the people on this forum know this already, but… when you're heading back to your car or bus after a race, in groups of family and friends, and you cross a multi-purpose trail such as the Martin Goodman Trail, be mindful. Look both ways. Make sure you're not stepping right in front of a runner or cyclist. Make sure your family isn't blocking the whole width of the trail for several seconds.

I shouldn't have to say this. These people were just running! It's a 10k race, so nearly everyone who does it has been out running some, eh? And yet there were bunches of people just strolling slowly across the Martin Goodman without so much as looking to see if they're stepping in the way of someone. I managed to get around them all, but there were some bicyclists who really had a rough time from it.

Swim group for me this morning. I was a bit worried I would get calf cramping because I did the Grouse Grind yesterday (first time this year :) ) , but I was ok.

Sporting Life 10K here in Ottawa. Much smaller than the Toronto version, but it was lovely! New PB for me in 44:06 and good enough for 3rd in my AG!

After 10 years living in this town, I finally found the fabled "southern passage" on the trail system that gets all the way to a nearby river. A little further than I wanted to run unsupported, but the joy of exploration reminded me of my early days of running. 24K done.
