Tempo Tuesday

Beautiful morning here in Toronto. Ran 7km at tempo pace with a 1 km warm up and 1 km cool down.

Bike Hill Repeats Tuesday for me! I'm meeting a friend at a local 1K-long crazyass steep hill for some suffering tonight (Brimley Hill at the Scarborough Bluffs, for those in the GTA). This time I'll remember to wear my HRM.

Best run so far. Same 5km route.

The cool and overcast weather certainly helped. I focused on form and let pace take care of itself.
Made to the halfway point in 14:05, no stopping, not for water, not for shoe laces, not for tight calves, not even for traffic.

Got back in 28:28.
So 14:23 for the second half, which is almost all slightly uphill.

I had to use a pace calculator, how sad is that. 5:41/km average pace.
Felt solid.

5 miles early this morning, wet and cold in the Capital!

After the run I noticed that my right need was a little tender, especially going down stairs. I may have started pushing too soon after last weeks marathon. I'll take it easy for the next couple days and give it a try again on Friday.

4 x 1M threshold (5:53) with 391m jog recoveries + WU/CD for 14K. This is a good workout to shake a race out of my legs.
