Will the Rain Ever End Tuesday?

Postby La » Tue Jun 16, 2015 7:01 am

Enough with the rain already!

No bike commute today because it was pouring (though it's stopped now, of course). More hills on the bike tonight! :)

Yeah, there was nasty rain this morning, but the sun seems to be making a appearance! :D

Due to torrential rain, I did a TM run - 12K from 6.0 up to 7.2 with a cool down. That's about as much speed work as I'm motivated to do these days. :?

It hasn't started here yet, but will be raining by the time I get off work. I'm trying to decide if I'll go to the gym at lunch, or get out for a walk before it rains.

Rain? what's that. We seem to be in a pretty solid drought pattern right now.
We need rain.

Dropping Brendan at school for his exam and then heading out for 10K before it gets too hot.

was pouring here this morning though now seems to have stopped. 8 km and change solo for me - I think that's my third very wet run in the past 8 days.

Got out ahead of the projected rain (which we sorely need) for 13K in the Edmonton river valley. This was my "medium" route when I was a student here back in the previous millenium.

I opted for the gym and did 15 minutes of strength work, then a 20 minute run.

Good for you!

Today was supposed to be a rest day.

When I texted IG to see what her lunch plans were, it was with the expectation of a relaxing lunch.
Didn't expect her to be going for a run. So be it. Laced up and headed out to meet her.

We did the bridges loop, behind Parliament, anti-clockwise since the path leading west was closed.

5km in all. It was oppressively hot, the rain stopped some time ago and the sun came out just as we started, taking the humidity to new levels.

But it was a nice run. All runs with IG are.

I think I'm calling in a break day unless I get the urge to head out after dinner. My heart is telling me to go, but my brain is saying that my legs would enjoy a day off.

Send the rain this way, please.

roughly 9 miles done with the puppy. We were hunting a secret location on the mountain and even though the way is marked with flagging tape, there's no actual trail... it was largely bushwacking and my legs are all scraped up now. It took nearly 5 hours, which was much longer than I expected, so both Sammy and I are tuckered now.

And yet now I have to start my work day... lol! The joy of setting my own hours is the ability to enjoy the weather during the day time... but then I have to work all evening!

I went out early this morning for 5 miles. Hopefully my shoes are dry tomorrow morning!

I ran about 4.5k in a light rain this morning, my hilly route. I rather enjoyed it. :)
