Canada Day Wednesday

Postby Caocao » Wed Jul 01, 2015 8:14 am

Happy Canada Day everyone! Decided to get my run in early today so I could spend the rest of the day concentrating on the celebrations! 10.3 miles in the trails at Gatineau Park. I was the only one out there!

8K for me this morning. Almost got bit by a charging dog that wasn't on a leash and then later lost my iPod while trying to dislodge 3 pounds of rain, humidity and sweat from my jacket, LOL. Oh well, not a bad way to start the day :)

6k walk to start the day. I didn't want to wait for breakfast to digest before running. Maybe another later.

Happy Canada Day all! Starting to feel like a "real" runner again. Just did my week 4 day 3, couch to 5K run in what turned to be the teaming rain that started about 3 minutes after I went out the door. Now sitting here with fingers crossed that things will clear in time for fireworks. Oh well, at least in Quebec the weather is apolitical! It poured on St. Jean Baptiste Day and is now pouring on Canada Day!.

First run in 24 days (not including the run I attempted a week later but stopped after 1k) since I fell and got banged up on my run on June 7th. No complaints from the toe and an ever-so-slight reminder from my ribs to ease back into it. Overall, the body responded really well to the 4k so I'm happy.

6 km and change with C in the stroller - rainy-ish. We played count the Canada flags. She's been begging for a stroller run this week, so sad every time I go out early before she gets up.

10K "race" in my hometown, ran it as a tempo run and finished 5+ minutes ahead of the field. Now spending the day drinking beer with my mother. (Don't judge me.)

7.8 km to the pool, and then a lovely swim, followed by lunch! Ah, Canada Day. This year it's a one-day weekend in between two two-day weeks. I can deal with that. :)
Marathons: 1; 30k: 2; Half marathons: 6; Shorter: Um, I've lost track
