Women's Running Tees

Postby GarminGeek » Tue Dec 22, 2015 9:55 am

Hello!

I've been helping with the organization of this year's Run to endMS (Cornwall Ontario). My wife's biggest pet peeve is that women are most often overlooked when it comes to event t-shirts, and usually end up with ill-fitting Unisex shirts. I've posted on some forums already and got a bit of feed-back already, but I was wondering if there are any suppliers I should really consider.

So far the Women I have heard from are leaning towards New Balance shirts in terms of proper fit and sizing.

My question to the women is: Do you have a race t-shirt you actually like? and if so, what is the manufacturer? Thanks!

Phil

PS: The run to endMS is on April 30 - and we have added a marathon (certified for Boston) this year. http://www.runtoendms.com

My shirts from my first two Nike San Francisco events fit me well and are fully tailored for a woman's body.

My favourite fit is my Chicago 2010 shirt. I'm extra small so that is not easy!

Nike was the manufacturer. I also still have a nike winter running jacket that I use regularly since 2009. It fits great! and is warm.

Just don't ask me to wear Nike shoes.

The New Balance shirts from the Around the Bay road race are the best fit I've found. The ones from the last couple of years have a lower neckline which is probably more fashionable but less practical for cooler spring and fall runs though. I tend to prefer the ones from the few years before that for actual running.

And, while we're expressing preferences - the Cornwall Run to end MS gets two thumbs up as well!

I have race shirts from New Balance, Nike, and Brooks that all fit well.

For 'family focused' races that provide a t- shirt, I usually choose a youth large. Fits my typical average sized body well. As for running shirts- couple of races shirts were from Zorrel.

pretty much any brand that makes a women-specific shirt is going to be fine.

WIth that said, I love the NB ones from Victoria Marathon.

Thanks all for the feedback so far.
Our goal is to really have a nice shirt for men and for women.

Edmonton marathon this year had Nike shirts in a women's cut - very nice - best race shirt I've ever had in terms of quality and actually fitting properly.

Edmonton Canada Day Road Race also had women's shirts -it says "The Authentic T-shirt Company" inside, also nice, the women's were v-neck and the men's round neck.

I don't bother keeping the unisex shirts these days, they don't fit me.

That's exactly the feedback I'm hearing! Hopefully we can find a shirt that fits the ladies.
