Sun-turday

Postby jharbeck » Sat Jan 23, 2016 11:54 am

It's Saturday, but it's a sun day here! And a saunter day – I went out for a saunter along the water. 10.1 km, brisk and refreshing. And, at –6˚C, not overcrowded. :)

Nice enough day - 25kms longest in a while. Was definitely not tired at the end. Was supposed to do 23.

Sunny here for sure - but the wind was cold this morning! We finally had good footing for a long run - 22 km done.

25 k. I wore the gps, but didn't look at it often. Was shocked by the pace. 6:01 m/k. Haven't run one like that in a very long time.

Gentle 14K, 30 pieces of garbage collected. Proposal: In exchange for approval of the pipeline Alberta so badly wants, Eastern Canada could start shipping all their garbage here and dumping it on our streets, as I'm not sure we'd notice or care.

Sunny here today as well. Out for a 30/60/35 minute walk/run/walk in nice running conditions.

8K on the snow packed greenbelt trails. A bit of minor slipping and sliding with every step, but overall, not too bad!

16 miles on my mountain, with 1000m of elevation (two big climbs).

Heels were better today than last week. Ankle is a bit better and stronger each week too, though I still feel it if I land certain ways. Starting to get some confidence back on the technical downhills but still way more cautious than I probably need to be.

Overall I've been feeling pretty strong this week. :)

Since I didn't get out for a run yesterday I decided to tack one on after my 2-hr computrainer ride this morning. 1:50 Zone 2 bike ride followed by a 4K run at a brisk 5:34/km pace!
