The problem is when you have these sort of things no one is game to identify themselves and call them out as scammers because they're doing it for 'charity', at least here on LR that's not an issue.
Start to query why there's no proper supervision or strava, etc type recording, missing mats in previous events, non existent races he's supposed to have run, etc , you get put down because he's doing it for 'charity', so people tend to leave well alone.
In the meantime the so called runner becomes a hero and running becomes a bit of a joke and a circus.
According to Strava, he has done a whopping 118.7 miles YTD in 21 hrs 25 min on 12 runs
