New messages

Postby Habs4ever » Fri Feb 27, 2015 12:28 pm

I don't know if I'm the only one having this issue, but on the main page where it says about new messages (PM's), mine is not sayng when there is a message in my inbox.
I don't get many, so I never really check my inbox, but I did today and I had two messages from over a week ago. oops!

I think the problem happens when you access the site from multiple devices/platforms (e.g., Tapatalk). That's how I missed a PM from you a few months ago! I didn't get a pop-up, nor did the message indicator say there was a new message. I mostly access RM from my computer's browser. Things started to mess up once I installed Tapatalk on my Android tablet.

Ah, that could be it. I do use Tapatalk when I'm out.

Do you use Tapatalk? The new messages often don't show up unless you go into messages on the app and refresh. But the website thinks you have so the new message "button" doesn't show up the next time you go on the website. Even tho you haven't read the message.

My solution is to have tge website send me an email when I get a new message.

If you don't use Tapatalk I got nothin'

And on the subject of Tapatalk, this is annoying as all heck:

Doesn't add any value to the discussion and just takes up space.

Sorry- you're right.

I just shut it off. I forgot it was on there.

Gone now.

I had to reload tapatalk on my phone and it reset the settings back to default.

There are actually a lot of things I dislike about tapatalk. If I knew anything about web design I would make a website for RM that was mobile-responsive.

I have not been in tapatalk all day, and I just checked my PM's. 2 messages that didn't show up on the top of the board.
Maybe I should sign up for email notifications.
