1 out of 3. Had fun at the Spring Runoff despite being in the early stages of the Cold That Ate April. Had to DNS the Run for the Diamond, and hardly ran at all for most of the month. A measly 37km in total.

Swimming: at least once or twice this month
Spinning: at least one high-interval spin class per week
Cycling: hope to FINALLY get outside, which includes bike commuting as much as possible, and at least one long outdoor ride per week.

I actually ran LESS this month than last month! I think that's because I had a 10K race, so I had two low-mileage long runs this month (Sunday before race as well as race day itself).
I didn't swim at all this month.
I went to spin class twice/week
I finally got out on my bike, but just once this past weekend, and I've only commuted by bike twice. The weather was just too crappy this month.

Have a couple of events registered for in April, Minto Run4Reach 10K on the 14th and the Smiths Falls Spring Fling Running Thing Half Marathon the following week on the 21st .... Been toying with the Manotick 5K / 10K / 18K on the following week, but will see how the legs are feeling after Smiths Falls .... Neither of these races will be racing hard out, as I still have not 100% recovered from my funky foot injury, but things are starting to ligthen up and running fitness improving ...

Such the case, should be around 200K again for the month, and will be taking May as more or less as a r&r month on my Panama Canal Cruise ... plan to stay active, for sure, but moreso to stave off the weight-gain from all the food that I will likely be consuming   :shifty: on the ship ...   And, if all goes well, hopefully, I will be able to get back to full training in June, and prepare for my Fall / Winter races ...

Happy with my running / training this month, finishing up with 20x runs/walks for 233K ... :P

April 2013 Training Goals

Jwolf wrote:Continued triathlon training for me so I expect my bike time will at least double. I am not sure about totals but I am still planning on three swims, bikes, and runs per week or as much as I can manage.

I had a great month. I bought a new bike, did more swimming, and ran in two road races. I came up a little short on swims and bikes (three of each per week would be 12 or 13 total) but had a couple extra runs.

Totals:
11 swims (about 45 min each one)
11 bikes (about half indoor half outdoor, 220k total)
15 runs (100k, including one 5k race and one 10 race)

I'm MOSTLY recovered from my injury (thanks to better shoe choice and some help from Dr. John) but I still have to be careful.

I had a good April with a variety of runs, both good ones & not so great ones done. Even with basically a week off due to the dang flu, I was able to get 133.5K done. So I'm happy with that. Especially given that I had some real good quality runs this week & last week. So yes I'm feeling a little more confident heading into BMO this weekend.
PB’s (official race results)
5K – 26:20; 8K – 41:28; 10K – 52:13; 15K - 1:22:43; 21.1K – 1:54:16; 30K – 2:51:34; 42.2K – 4:24:14

What is up for 2018

Bailed on the riding with only 1 ride.
Good news is the 20 runs for 175km with the long run of up to 20k (even if that particular run wasn't planned for that long)

287K for April. Pretty happy to be able to comfortably keep up these 250K+ months. There was also some cross training in there.

Wow, I was sure ambitious! Didn't quite make it but I did manage to be consistent and fit all my runs in, ended up with 130 km running, 2 short swims per week and two bike workouts.

All goals achieved.

Ended up with 21 runs totalling 183km.

With tapering for Goodlife and then SportingLife the week after, and maybe a burger and a beer to livelife, May will likely have just a bit less mileage.

Did this, very well. Gym membership is expired now, and I've been doing lots more running. I just like running outside better than anything I can do at the gym.
