I did 6578 yesterday.

no reporting "required" - this first week is to get your average - from there, we'll set goals.

Partially so that we didn't have unrealistic goals, and, partially since a lot of us couldn't find our pedometers!

Kiza - were you able to figure out if that other one works? Otherwise my total for yesterday is...wait for it....3 steps.

Here's a link to a Walk For Life website that converts any activity to steps..and can convert your miles walked into steps..just an FYI...

(It was sent to me as part of a "100 mile Challenge" going on at work where you are encouraged to convert any activity to miles in order to see how quickly you can add up to 100 miles)

That would have given a much better impression with the apostrophe?

No. 5280 feet per mile, figure out how big your step is, do the math. I imagine for someone wee like JoJo its six or seven thousand.

hm... the size of my steps vary depending on whether I have a puppy with me or not (and then whether he's off-leash or on...).

So far today I've walked 5 miles, and will add another 3 miles by bedtime... I'm guessing that's well over 10,000? And that's an average day for me (those of you with dogs--walk them! then 10,000 is easy peasy... and it's better for the pup too ;).

so, do you want in on the challenge, Holly?

the challenge looks like it's going to be - take your average from this week, and try to up it by 10, 15 or 20 % from now on....

nope, I was just curious about how many steps I'm already doing.

I think 8 miles a day is plenty, particularly when I'm still recovering from two major injuries. :)

I wonder what would happen if you attached that to a three legged dog.
