I might be in for Sunday, but probably only 10K or so if I go. I'm not sure what's on the agenda for Father's Day yet. Were you planning on heading out early?

I'd be in for a shorter 10-12k run on Sunday too since I'm running longer on Saturday.

I'd love to join in but I don't think I'm up to the pace yet (run, BBQ or beer paces). 10K is still a long run for me and I don't get the stitches out of my ankle until Tuesday.

Maybe....I've been told I'm getting laid off on Thursday, so suddenly, my summer schedule is wide open! But no 50K runs for a while yet.....

Nick, that would be AWESOME!! (well, the running with you part, not the laid off part :( ) -- And my runs are shorter now (well, for a little while anyways)! Would be great to explore new trails in your area as well as more up in the Gats~!! Let me know!!

Sounds good...June 16th...crazy I opened the calendar thinking June 16th isn't that a week from Sunday :)

Mike/NMG you can decide 8 or 8:30 both work. I'll bring the clown shoes I mean Hoka's and be the very tall guy.

***Edited to say Mike not Mark*** Sorry Mike

8:00 it is.

I will likely do some sort of a run there Saturday as well and will post route for an idea of distances.

Tomorrow's Route if you are up for it - http://www.movescount.com/moves/move14759575

Lots of twists, turns, up, downs, roots and rocks - lots and lots of rocks

I got a little turned around at Bonk Point, but figured it out. It is not an easy run

Not quite ready for that yet, unfortunately. If you're doing 7.25 pace, I'd still be there at sundown. Have fun! I'll be a little more relaxed at Yin Yoga at that time.

I can guarantee that my pace won't be that quick, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless!

Very cool! Thanks Strider. You did a great job shooting behind your head while still running.

I don't know what I was doing on that last one but it looked like I was trying to throw an elbow as you were going by for the passing shot. I swear I wasn't.

Hey Folks!

Glad I found this board, as I have been looking forward to getting out to Gatineau for some trail runs. Was looking for a straightforward 10-12K run, no trail shoes, rolling hills are fine. Just looking to get off the pavement and enjoy the scenery while getting in a good workout. Thanks for your help!

Both trails heading SW from the Wakefield parking lot (p17) - trails 52 and 53 are wide trails with easy footing. A few significant hills in there. Mostly well-shaded. You'd have to do an out-and-back, as the only way to make a loop is to go around Lac Philippe, which makes a run over 20km.

Another option is to start at Kingsmere (p7) and follow trial 30 to trail 1, which you can follow to your heart's content. It's well-shaded, rolling hills, easy footing (you start with a monster uphill for 4 or 5 minutes, but then it's just gentle rollers). There are several side trails you can jump onto that are all more technical but totally passable without trail shoes.

Rumpelstiltskin was taken? :)

Best run for what you are asking is from P7 (Kingsmere) to Champlain Lookout and back. Quite runnable in road shoes. If you want to go longer you can continue on Trail 1.
