Interesting story of a self-supported ultra run. My favorite quote: As far as I'm concerned, doing these runs is what life is about. You only have so much time here on earth, so you might as well do the things you want to do and have fun and live. Who wants to spend their whole life sitting on their ass?

163 miles in 5 days along the Mickelson Trail in South Dakota.
I can't always go to races when I want. But I do like the idea of "personal multi-day" and then just do all the miles I can.

Multiday fastbacks are amazing. So many incredible options with no limitations...unlike races.

Before my back injury I was geared up and training up for doing one or two night trips on 60+km trails in the Rockies. There are a lot of good trails to run.

The Mickelson Trail in south Dakota is where they run the Lean Horse ultra. Nice rail trail, nice district in the Black Hills.

That would be AWESOME, Laura -- I am no where near your mileage yet though -- building up, but probably a couple of summers away yet.....

No, you are ready. Multi-Days are more about the B2B2B2B, than a total mileage for a single day.
