Go back and click! I'm going to be there, pacing for Sylvie - hummm, that might not be much of an incentive though

I was actually considering this for my first 50K but have decided that if she wants me, I'd rather help pace/crew Sylvie for her first 100 miler

I'm pretty sure my 2013 trip to Canada will be to SS since I have no desire to run ORW. But I am waffling between 50k and 50 miles. Today running, I thought, "Why not sign up for 50 miles and then down grade if things don't work out." The 50 miles has a "Ultimate cutoff" of 12 pm. I don't understand what that means.
Anyone?

This is awesome news..... use this link
http://www.burlingtonrunners.com/index.cfm?id=5711
and then check out the Participant's Guide -- I think what you are reading about Ultimate cutoff is 12 a.m. from Saturday night to Sunday morning -- which would mean that you would have from 6:00 Saturday morning until midnight to complete the 50 miler..... if you're still unsure, you can send an email to the RD....

I read that and thought really hard with my 2 brain cells and finally decided what you said. They must mean 12 am not 12 pm; so I'd have 18 hours to finish, which I could do with my current plan to walk alot.
I just paid my property taxes....now I "should" purchase something fun.

It feels allot like the next season is upon us. May comes pretty quick when you are planning to go long.
Spirit .... Sulphur is a great race. Beautiful course yet not technical, not too hilly, not too hot usually (at least by Texas standards) , very very well supported and its the 2nd most attended Southern Ontario trail race next to the Toad.

Staying at the Best Western suggested by Strider. No camping for me. Plan would be to fly to Buffalo and drive to Hamilton.

Re: Sulphur Springs 2013 - Who's In??
Jo-Jo -- sent you a PM with some details about crewing, but generally I see crewing as supporting your racer in whatever they might need. That could be ensuring their nutrition/hydration is ready; it could mean making sure they are taking on the planned nutrition/hydration when they are no longer wanting to. It could mean "mental" support/encouragement, even being a bit "bossy" in making sure they stay on the course, even when they say they want to quit (providing OF COURSE they are physically able to continue). Helping with sock/shoe changes, checking out feet for required care.... and the list can go on and on.....
Having never done it, I am not sure how much FUN it is, and I have read that you might take some "abuse" from your racer, but at the end of the day, I would like to hope that a racer would be eternally grateful to his/her crew for what they have done for him/her

You can be my crew. Just hand me my drinks as I come by and be crabby if I feel like quitting. If its raining, you can fetch dry stuff from the car.

Welcome aboard Spirit , you picked a great trail race.
Jo-Jo trails are for the most part pretty wide and not too technical.

If you're coming on Friday, I might be able to swing a M&G in Hamilton that evening, then drive to Ottawa on Saturday morning.

Exactly!!!!
I should be able to get to Buffalo 11:45. Then a couple hour drive. Plus wait at the border.
