Ottawa is getting a Lululemon Warehouse Sale - January 19th to 22nd
It's being held in the new CE Centre on Uplands Drive (at the Airport)

If you've got time to spare, Lulu is also hiring for this event. Job Fair is being held this week, on Jauary 4th. You must RSVP if you want an interview...

Basically, they are looking for staff to setup the facility (week leading up) or staff for the actual warehouse sale (3 days).

Yikes, this will be dangerous and it's close to my house! Do they usually have good deals and size selection?

Interesting! I went a few years ago (2008 maybe?). It was at the Aberdeen Pavilion and we lined up outside for a reeeeeeally long time (and then you had to line up inside as well!). I went with a friend and we had fun hanging out, but it was cold, and not worth the wait. They had lots of stuff - some good deals, but not amazing. I bought a few yoga tanks that were $29 - so probably half price-ish. I also got a zip-up that I still wear a lot which was probably 40% off.

They are clearing out seasonal type stuff - so not the basics like black pants or the hoodies. The line ups for the change rooms were equally insane, so I would recommend wearing a light tank top so you can try stuff over top.

If you can line-up inside at this new place, I'll consider going! Maybe it would be less insane during the day....

Thanks. My nephew is only working p/t at present so I sent it to him. He'd be great at the set up part and has done sales (is currently at chapters) so who knows ...

The actual event is also being held at the new convention centre on Uplands

I don't have my hopes up for anything great (I, too, have less than stellar memories of the last sale at Aberdeen) - but figure any money saved has to be better than none

Great, Andrea! I guess they'll probably post the hours soon, but we could even plan a lunch. There are several restaurants at Hunt Club Place too. That might be a better idea if Maniacs have kids or babies in tow. The Second Cup isn't very big. I would probably want to go on Friday night or first thing on Saturday/Sunday morning, but I'm flexible.

So far the 19th I am good until about 1ish. I teach after school so can't stay in the city too long. Things could change between now and then but it may be possible for me to M&G too.

Keep me posted! That being said - I may opt to go during the day with C in tow (if there's indoor lining up!) to minimize crowds. Maybe I'm dreaming - I remember there being lots of university aged people there last time, so they probably don't go to class on Fridays!

I have a fairly open schedule on Saturday and Sunday but can't do Friday night. My only commitment will be my long run on Saturday or Sunday morning (depending on what we decide here), so I'll let the moms and dads of the group make a decision on the best time to meet. We can meet at the sale and then wander over to Hunt Club Place for lunch afterward. I think that our group will probably be small so we can wing it but if folks are interested in coming to lunch only, we can arrange some sort of phone call notification to let you know when we're heading over. With the lack of predictability of the sale, I think that it might be hard to set a specific time for lunch.

GAH! We did the hours at work tonight, and I am the only one who can work on Jan 21st. Seeing as I've been away running, and everyone covered my shifts - I am left in the "must return the favor" boat

In light of crazy weekend schedules, and a desire to avoid what are expected to be 2-3+ hour wait times, the idea of a M&G pre/post Lulu is out the window. However, I second Carm's idea... it's time for an Ottawa M&G. In light of the weather, it seems like *forever* to wait until ORW - so we'll see if we ca pull something together in a couple weeks
