Thank You

Postby Dstew » Fri Jul 06, 2012 12:12 pm

Although it has only been a couple of weeks, I just wanted to say thank you for the words of wisdom provided by the experts on this board with regards to what I should do in training.

Previous to that advice, I had managed one week of 100 kilometers and I am positive that week lead to my stress fracture. Just last week I ended up running over 100 kilometers and did not even realize it until after I had logged my last run of the week. I have managed three such weeks and I will exceed that this week again. I do not need any ice or medication and I still look forward to getting out for my runs. And many times I plan to do 7 K but end up doing 15 or plan to do 15 K but do 20 K because my legs are good and it is actually fun. Whereas before it was drudgery and torture. Add in the benefit that I have lost weight and people are telling me how much better I am looking after just a little more than an month of this approach and I can honestly say that how fast I actually run a marathon pales in comparison to all of the other benefits of this approach so once again, thank you for taking the time to provide me with your thoughts and experience.

:D
When your legs get tired, run with your heart.

Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of your chance to be extraordinary.
