How's everyone's running going?

I'm going to be arranging preschool in January so that I have 2 opportunities/week to run on the indoor track. Then I just have to fit in the 3rd run, and since we are not doing Sunday swimming, I will have that day.

I have been fairly consistent, but felt really run down this week, so have been taking it a bit easy. I still have one run to do either tomorrow or Friday. Then Saturday is spin class! I am super looking forward to it!

Fourth pp run is done! 5.2km, mostly bc I wasn't 100% sure where I was going so I underestimated the distance. It was ok though! My OB gave me clearance on Tues to run (ummmn didn't tell him I kinda already started) and confirmed my abs are not separated. My very lowest abs still ache a bit and pull on the pubic bone a bit, which I feel at the very start of a run. The doc said that's pretty normal, to do exercises to strengthen them but they will eventually tighten anyway. I will be sticking with short distances until it feels pretty easy or until I naturally go faster (my body's way of telling me it's an easy distance). We're not there yet! It didn't feel like I was pushing it today, but it definitely didn't feel easy either. I'm so happy to be running again!! It makes me feel so much better. I'm tired every day, but running gives me energy. Some days are just too much, like yesterday, and that's ok- I lie on the couch instead. For every tough day there tend to be 3-4 manageable ones though. :)

I totally found the running helped with my energy! When I was on mat leave with C, my mom would watch her every Friday morning while I did my long run. There were days where I'd had such an awful sleep that I'd just want to nap instead, but that run always made me feel better.

Other Jesse was giving me a hard time, so I guess it's time for me to post here!

I won't be signing up for any Ottawa Race Weekend events this year because I have other plans for that weekend....having a baby!

I'm just about 14 weeks along. Still running, but sloooowly. I can't believe how quickly my pace dropped!

(oh, and please don't mention on Facebook yet, because I haven't posted anything there yet)

Thanks everyone! We're very excited...but probably Charlotte most of all! Every time she sees my belly, she exclaims "babeeeee!" and gives it a big hug. When we first told her, she instantly announced "Maybe I should get a diaper for the baby. And the baby needs a blanket too" and ran off to find both and lay them across my stomach. She wants to know if the baby is coming various places with us (is the baby coming on our run?) which she is mostly pleased with, until she figured out that the baby gets to come to work with me each day and she doesn't. Clearly she has no idea what she's really in for come the spring (or the concept that she still has six months to wait!), but watching her be so caring already is really neat to watch.

This is adorable! I laughed at the work part :)

Have you asked her if she wants a brother or a sister? John was insistant that he was getting a sister with Morgan, and he was right.

Congratulations, Jesse!!! We had our second in August; our older guy loves the new guy to pieces, but is not as pleased with us for paying attention to him. :-) But it's the sweetest thing to see them together. Good luck and enjoy!

It's great to see that Ms. C is so excited! My two great nephews had the following reaction to their new sister.

Adam (2.5): no baby here
Daniel (little over 4): there are no toys for a girl in this house

Fortunately after a week or so they decided she was okay and could stay.
