I have one, but haven't used it yet. I got it at Costco, it's the Bell one. I need a bike I can pull it with.

We bought that one at Costco last fall, but we haven't tried it. It'll be going on Joe's beater bike, not my pretty bike :D

I thought I remembered you saying you had that one, but they don't seem to have them any more!

I think it was on clearance when we got it :(

Costco tends to bring them in seasonally. I got mine on "clearance" when John was wee. The next summer, they were back.

Gavin's 4 months - I think you had said you ran with C in the carseat at 4 months? We didn't get the adapter, but I was planning on talking to the doctor at his appt in a few weeks.

C is 5.25 months, and I still have her in the carseat when we run. That said, I think the next time we go out I will likely just put her in the main part of the stroller.

Went for a long run today (without c) and ran ~14 km. it took 2 hours. I am so not used to long runs taking that long... please tell me it gets better!

Running during the week has turned into a logistical nightmare so I just go to spin class during the day. I come out happy, C gets time with the other babies - win, win.
Next?

It does!

I vividly remember my first 16km run in the summer and thinking "how in the heck did I ever train for (and run!) three marathons, and do training runs that were TWICE that distance, let alone the race, when that run was SO hard?". And here I am, training for another marathon!

It does. I ran some 10ks with Z in the stroller last summer that took upwards of 1:10. And I PB'd 2 months ago in 52 min. When you train with a stroller and then run without it, you'll feel like you're flying!

Or, find a friend like HCcD, who won't let me push the stroller if we're out together. He insists on pushing Z :D

It does get better! In addtion to what the Jesse's have said, you also get faster as you have less time  . There are times when I must fit in X km's in X min and think...ooh, that's going to be tough... but then I just make it happen.

So true!!

I am doing my longer runs Wednesday mornings when the older 2 are in school. I only have a 2h window and I need to cover as much distance/time as I can.

Very true! You get very efficient with time and distance. There is no time wasting allowed, you only get a few minutes to spare.

I loaded the kids in the double stroller today and went for a brisk walk.

That's like the gateway back to running, right??

Yes! Loading kids in a double stroller and walking is probably harder than running!

huh?

So, I'm PMing with someone from the "mom forum" - she's a runner that hasn't been able to run due to SPD during and after her pregnancy.

She just asked me this:

"Glad to hear you're not too sore! Do you jog or run? If it's SPD or something similar, shortening your stride a little can really help. I know that it's hard to mess with ones own running stride etc but maybe you could try? I'm thinking a fast jogging stride might be easier on the hips & pelvis than the long outstretched running stride?"

I replied "I've never distinguised the difference. I'm a runner."

I find this statement odd, or, am I missing something?
i run for me.

 beats me - I always figured that the pace was what made a 'jog' vs 'run'

That is a bit odd way to say it ... over-striding might be the problem she's trying to avoid (which can cause other problems in the legs and joints, not just hips), but that's not the difference between running and jogging.

I think Jen is right. Your friend just explained it kind of oddly.

Hi! I love/hate having a newborn again. Love the snuggles, but not so much love for the hourly feedings. N is 19 days and my recovery has been much faster this time. Definitely not going to rush things, but we've been taking Lily for short walks. Love the weather today!

Glad you are doing well Anners! No, don't rush...just enjoy your new baby girl! It must be V's b-day really soon right? Amelia's was last Friday. And now she has "that gastro bug"...yah, the past day and a half have been really, really fun. Spent half the day at ChEO getting hydrated again. It's not shaping up to be a great runnign week over here. But still looking forward to ATB (and hopefully a PB) next weekend!

Sorry to hear your little girl is sick!

What time are you aiming for at ATB? Maybe we'll get to leap frog each other in some races again this year (or more likely, I'll try my best to catch you!)

Ha! I wish...i have heard through the grapevine that your training is going very well! I'm thinking 2:40 is do-able for me but really i should be happy with anything around 2:45. What are you thinking??
