Sanders Runs for Canada
Sanders Runs for Canada
Montreal's Run for Canada 10k starts at the Old Port and heads west along the Lachine Canal, the birthplace of Canadian heavy industry. I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful city.
Entered this race intending to crack 45 minutes, but the sun, the heat and my training just didn't make that possible.
Chiptime 47:26.9
Age Rank 39/101
Gender Placement 134/369
High-fived Dr.Sonia on the course, had a good visit with Crash and the three Millers. Loved the band that played "All of Me" near the 2k mark. But the highlight of the event for me was watching a friend's five-year-old race the 1km. She was sprinting for big parts of it. Great to see little ones with raw enthusiasm.
(Oh, I did run home.)

Nice job in the heat.
The kids races can always be fun. The kid who won the race in Toronto looked quite fast. No idea what time he ran, but he was moving.

My training log
Why practice running slow? It comes naturally!
"There are two types of injuries that we older runners get: those that we can run with and those that we can't. And if you're over 30 and don't have one or the other, you aren't training hard enough." - Younger Legs blog
