Marg Rattles her Bones to a 5km PB

Postby Marg » Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:08 pm

Just a real quick report as this is likely my last race of the season... I think. I wanted to PB in every distance for 2008 and mission is now accomplished.

25:52 is good for almost 2 minutes off my modern era PB, which was set in Paris in 2006.

I wanted to bring it in closer to 25 minutes so I'll work on this. The slowest km was the first because the crowd was very tough to navigate through. Nick found me about 1km in on the course and stayed along side. I kept to my zone and my music though but it was good to know there was support beside me, thanks Nick.

One thing about the 5km, it hurts from the first step to the last. But I was ready for that. I just have to work in improving my time.

After I finished, I back tracked to find Mich on the 10km course. It was a real pleasure to run with her and Lorne to bring her to her finish. Bravo lady!

As always, great to see our orange family members out there, and I think a few PBs were achieved.

Great to finally meet Tall who is wicked fast.

Marg, congratulations on your string of PB's this year!! Today was a biggie to boot--well done. Neil and I were amazed at the volume of runners at RMB--hard work navigating/jockeying for sure. Phew!!

A PB in every distance!?! WOW!!!
I would definitely say you had an awesome year! Congrats!
And I love your line about 5 km's hurting. So true. When I ran the Beethoven 1/2 a few weeks ago, I actually looked over at the guy besude me and said "I could really get used to this comfortable pace". Each race is a beast in its own way.

I like that line! It's so true.

Congrats on the PB by 2 minutes. Way to go!
