Montreal 21 with 'cross weather!

Postby Sir Crashalot » Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:55 pm

Yes folks! It was perfect conditions for 'cross! About 5c, winds were blowing, rain, plenty of mud on the home stretch... & it was a half marathon. So.... sad... Perhaps it was a good sign for me! My running year has not been exactly exemplary by any standard with January@40km, February@73km, March @34km, & as of yesterday, April@29km.
As of this afternoon, I have successfully doubled my mileage for the month    I have to admit that I am really happy with my result of 2:22:30.9. Yes.... 0.9!!
Today's run was really fun, I got to run with Framboisine! We chatted & joked from beginning to end! After that, the conversation continued with The Millers over at Pub St.Paul before we broke up for the day! Now, as I write this report, the sun is out!

Great day at the race, great conversation, & great food!
What more can a guy ask for on his birthday!

Thanks for the shout-out, Crash! I wasn't quite sure who it was at the time, so I just waved back.

Funny that it was your birthday yesterday: Before the race BG1 and I were laughing about how her son (who is 3 1/2) wished mummy "Happy Birthday" when asked if he had anything to say to her before her race. So, she and I decided that a good pre-race wish to each other was to say "Happy Birthday" and high-five each other. Little did we know it was YOUR birthday!

Sorry to have missed you yesterday, Crash! Glad you got to celebrate your birthday in 'cross style! Not on a bike seat but plodding away with the rest of us runners. :)

Super that you had a running buddy; sounds like you had a great time! I was kind of freaked out by the weather and the crowds yesterday, so I didn't hang around or join anyone for an "after-party." I guess I don't go to enough crowded races...

Today is beautiful weather for post-birthday celebrations! See you at Mont-St-Bruno in June, I hope!
