Sandra ran ATB and got a PB!

Postby Sandra » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:32 pm

Well, this year was my 2nd year running ATB and I am just thrilled with my results today. A PB of around 6min with a chip time of 2:35:57. My main goal was to race this race at a consistent pace and even though I thought my pace seemed too fast, I felt so good during the whole race that It was really hard to slow it down. So I went with what I had. Getting to the hills I still felt I had a lot left in the tank but tried to slow it down just a little because I really wanted to run up the "big hill" this year. I almost had a bit of a panic attack approaching the hill, but since I was still feeling great, I took that hill and conquered it. Getting to the top, I realized it wasn't all that bad and really not much different than one of the hills on my long training runs. (Last year my race was a lot more painful and for some reason I remembered the hill being much worse). Once I got to the top of the hill, I still felt great and gave it all I had for the last 4km. Today was a great day for racing, but I am definately glad it's over! Now to do nothing for the rest of the evening :D

Wow you're getting fast! You know when that hill doesn't seem so bad, you're in good shape.
