Marg's 2 in 2.

Postby Marg » Sun May 29, 2011 2:53 pm

It's been a real long tough slog back.
Injury and illness suck but I am pretty happy that after very low mileage for many months, I was able to finish both Mississauga (2:12) and Ottawa (2:15) two weeks apart this month.
Such a contrast in conditions between these two events but both were hugely enjoyable and seeing so many people throughout this past month always makes it that much better.

Missy was awesome since I tried a new course, but it was cccccold wet and windy. I was well cared for by La (well ok, she took care of me this weekend too).
Ottawa was humidity central, but the rain was perfect when it started.

So the base is coming along. I'll have to work on trying to get my speed back and hope for a decent showing at the Army 1/2 and a solid full in NY later this year.
I know I have my work cut out for me but hopefully this improving trend will continue.

Thanks to everyone who cheered and hung out!

Dee, Nemo is already asking for you.
Chilly 1/2 - March 4
Montreal 1/2 - April 29
NCM 1/2 - May 27
Manitoba 1/2 - June 17
Army 1/2 - Sept

Awww Marg. Well done! Definitely on the road back! So glad to hear such an awesome report. And bottom line is - it really is all about the peeps! You've had some great peeps around you the past few weeks! :D

Good luck with your NYC training (so jealous!)

Glad to see you being consistent again. I can relate to the injury and illness bit. Been kind of sidelined myself of late.

Awesome photo, James! Is that what it looked like from behind your mask?

Marg, thanks for being such a great hostess. Next time we get together let's not make it a race weekend (or one when either of us is on antibiotics) so that we can eat and drink up a storm and stay up late!

Amazing that you could pull off such a great race after being "hostess with the mostest" all weekend (even the morning of your race). Bravo! :D

Hey Marg, I'm so, so glad to see you're back running. Injury and illness DO suck- hopefully you've paid your dues for a long, long time! Very respectable and I can't wait to hear how your summer goes.
