Mississauga Marathon! (added photo)
I think I ran the race of my life yesterday! Short version is 3:42:25 (11 minute PB); 213/851 overall; 10/132 AG; 39/352 Females
A perfect storm yesterday. Everything came together for me which lets face it, is essential to running a good marathon. The last 10K still sucked, especially the last 5K but I didn't walk and held pace until the end. I was running a 5:13/km average pace for most of the race but dropped to 5:14/km after the hill at 32K and then down to 5:15/km which I held till the end.
About 4k from the end there was a guy in front of me who had a shirt on that said "how bad do you want it". I stared at that for a while because I really did want to walk....
I was super excited when I saw the clock with the 3:42 on it and threw my hands up as I ran through the finish line...beyond thrilled. Still trying to wrap my head around the result....
I felt super yuck after the race though, which has never happened to me. Didn't stick around long at all, just wanted to get home. My stomach felt horrible. Laid down for a while and didn't even shower until 3:30 (TMI). Feel ok today (stomach wise), just really sore. Hips are killing me!
Love this photo, gonna buy this one for sure

Re: Mississauga Marathon!
Such an awesome result -- so happy for you!! Was worried when I saw your post yesterday on FB that you were not feeling well, so happy to see that you are feeling better!! Enjoy the tired/sore legs -- you worked hard, and they're "thanking you"! Rest up, and celebrate your amazing race!!

Sounds like you had a great race. Sometimes you feel off after pushing so hard though. I am sure you feel great today!

Nicely done: PB hurt is the best kind. If those last 5K weren't tough, you'd know deep down that there was more to give. Happy hobbling...

Wow Robin, you've come so far in your running and I'm so impressed! You are awesome, woman! That's one well-run race and a super PB!!
You have such a knack for marathon pacing- I don't remember when you've ever slowed down significantly in a marathon. Your can figure out what pace you'll be able to hold the whole time- that's a true gift (along with great training, I know! ).

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!
