What do you eat when you're studying?

Postby D-Man » Sun Oct 14, 2007 1:59 pm

I'm bored (from studying) ...

so far, I've had chips, salted peanuts, pretzels, pork chops, and pizza (not usually my favorite, but I must've been craving the salt from the meat  )

What does everyone else do?

studying is usually my WORST time for giving in to cravings -- for some reason I can never sit down to study without a bag of candy to 'keep me going'. It's even worse if I'm studying in a coffee shop.

When I'm being good, I usually try to keep 2L of diet coke (not a coffee drinker -- I suppose water would be better) and a bag of baby carrots on the desk.

Take a backpack to Pizza Hut for all you can eat lunch, put three slices in the bag for each slice you eat, eat for two hours, you've got two weeks worth of pizza in the bag.

I also used to spend the week before exams cooking up big batches of food I could eat while studying - chili, lasagna, that sort of thing.

Me too. I use it as a distraction from doing work. Candy, crackers, whatever I can get my hands on.

weird, I'm that way when I'm programming (cuz I have a "zone") but not while I'm studying... last night I had chips and a grape fanta (which is not nearly as good as grape crush, btw).

If I'm trying to be healthy, I'll switch over to something like herbal tea. Nice and warm on a day like today, but gives me a distraction, without extra calories.

Popcorn when I was at home.
When I studied at the library (which was most of exams & midterms - I used to live in the stacks) I used to have water with me, and then we'd take tea/coffee breaks.

You know what used to be my favourite studying snack... dry golden grahams. If I was extra stressed I would throw in a few marshmallows and chocolate chips and nuke for a few seconds.

i'm all about sugar snap peas, baby carrots, and broccoli for study snacks. it's especially fun to eat them on the 'quiet' floors of the library.

I used to make a munchie plate: crackers, cheese, veggies with a bit of dip, sausage and some cut up fruit.

I don't really study, but the rare times I did, my weakness was candy. Skittles, twizzlers, etc.

ooooh, good thread! Now this is horrible but I tend to chew on my lips while I study...so I counter it by always having nibblies handy. Hot Tamales are a favourite, although Quick Chick's cereal chocolate chip marshmallow snack is sounding great right now...

I knew a girl who used to pull at her eyebrows when stressed during exams. She went through a lot of brow pencil!

I used to have popcorn or cookies when I studied.

My roommate had sour gummy bears and Coke... She got sores in her mouth from eating too many sour gummy bears, but she couldn't help it.

Carrie reminded me last night about the one time I bought a club pack of cheap weiners at Superstore and ate nothing but microwaved weiners for about a week. Except for the time I made weiner fried rice.

I miss university.

coffee sandwiches for those all night cram sessions.

Man, its been a long time since I had to study, and I don't like even thinking about it.
