I made these yesterday with sunflower and pumpkin seeds instead of nuts and I was very pleasantly surprised. I've never tried a larabar (because of the nuts), but these are yummy and very satisfying. I'm excited to experiment with different flavours. I'm not usually satisfied with having just one of something yummy, but I am with these. This is a very good thing!

I did too, but also had sesame seeds in there. I think they are my favorite of the three batches I made.
I thought I had listed the ones I had made, but I guess not. :?

Choc. Brownie. (Habsdaughter likes these)

Almonds and cinnamon

Pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds (my favorite)

4 more batches tonight.

1/4 cup PB in one of them with almonds, I had no peanuts

I tried one batch with cranberries as the base, not sure how it will turn out.
Measured one cup of cranberries and started processing them but realized they were too dry, so added two tablespoons of water. Used 2/3 cup of cashews as the nuts.

One batch was seeds again.

One batch was with the cocoa powder.

Habsdaughter loves them and they are way healthier than store bought granola bars. She has asked for one each day for school.

Healthy, yes. But really high in calories, so don't be swayed by the Halo Effect and overeat. ;)

FYI: dried cranberries (at least the commercial ones) have a LOT of sugar in them.

Yes, very true. It is easy to get caught up in that!

I noticed that about the cranberries. They are loaded with sugar, natural and added.

There are also some good alternatives to commercial granola bars out there (I don't think of those as granola bars anyway) but they would be hard for you to find in a small town. Definitely pricey though.

I made Raw Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies this afternoon. I think they taste good, but I'm still half frozen from the dentist, so it was hard to tell. They definitely taste decent, but I don't know yet if they taste amazing. I had to add about 3 Tbsp of water because my peanut butter was from the bottom of the jar, and I didn't mix the oils very well so that bottom stuff was quite dry.

I would liken them to a Lara Bar based on the ingredients and manner of preparation. I wouldn't call them sugar-free like the blogger does though. Dates and raisins contain a lot of sugar!

In browsing Pinterest I stumbled accross this banana oatmeal cookies that are surpisingly good - can be vegan, gluten free (assuming you find gluten free oatmeal)

They taste surprisingly like oatmeal raisin cookies even without flour or much sugar.
