Gym workout early this morning. 2 miles on the elliptical plus 5K on the skate machine. Followed that up with some good old fashioned stretching, taking my time to get it done properly, then did a few light arm/chest weights.

It's snowing lightly here and although it's very pretty, it seems to be causing havoc in our city for what is the first real day back to work from the holidays. Drive safe, peeps!

Tempo Tuesday!

Went much better than anticipated.

13K in total with 8K@ 4.54m/k (7.6mph). I did take a couple of 1 minute recoveries in there @ 6mph.

Hill Workout for me tonight - 4 x hills but I am also going to practice running down the hills, to prepare for Boston. Total distance should be 8-9 kms.

Due to lack of advanced planning on my part (and snow-covered streets), I bailed on my planned run to/from work today. Instead, I will do a short run on the TM before my spin class this evening.

Back to work for me as well. I'm trying to wake up.

Vacation in a warmer climate brought me slowly back to the world of running again. How could I resist no snow and a lovely 1 mile path around the resort? I managed a walk/run 7 times in the last two weeks. I'll be sticking with super low mileage (max 3 miles) for quite some time as the foot is barely agreeing with it, but it isn't protesting horribly either. This morning was 2 miles on the treadmill...better than nothing. Last night was a hot yoga class that didn't feel shockingly awful after two weeks off.

Onward to 2011....

Did a few minutes of cross-training with a shovel on the driveway with JB, then off to the gym where I did 5.5 miles of speed work on the TM.

The last interval was hard but this is only Day 2 of training. I know it gets better.

5k easy this morning, speedwork tonight.

That sounds suspiciously like a double, which it is, but only because I'm trying to squeeze 50k in before taking the weekend off running to ski.

I got up a little early and got out the door for a quick 4.94 km. Outside, in the -16C chill of the morning. Done in 27:10 for 5:30/km.

I'll probably run again at lunch today.

yesterday turned out to be a rest day since I spent the entire day at the office and then went to the Flames game last night.

Today - i plan to head to the Y after work to ideally do a run and then a swim - somewhere in the range of a 20-30min run/20-30min swin - unless I hear back from the trainer I'm hoping to set up some sessions with (well, use up sessions I had with her that I haven't used yet)

and totally ticking me off. My adidas running shorts. I remember wearing them at the Y last Thurs. Do you think I can find them now? I have gone through the laundry hamper twice (if not 3 times), gone through my run stuff drawers a couple of times, even gone through dave's stuff. FFS. it's driving me nuts. I found the shirt I wore on that run. I'm sure I found the sports bra too. where the hell are my shorts??!?

tonight, group trail run in the dark. easy and short tonight, but I am excited because my little group is growing... the first time we had 4 people, the second time 6, and tonight should be twice that (if everyone shows... given the snowfall warnings in effect! lol). should be fun. :)
