Short 1500m swim at lunch today. Once I got past the cold water (seriously, our pool at the base is freezing), it was really good to get back in the pool after a week and a half of slacking off.

I don't think I'll be doing much of anything today. I'm pretty much struggling to stay awake at work today, as I was up for about 20 hours getting home and settled last night, then slept for about 6. Plus, my friend is supposed to bring my kitty back to me tonight, so I'll visit with both of them, and give him his thank you gifts.

I aim to just get some yoga/strength done before he comes.

Tomorrow will be XC skiing, downhill skiing, or snowshoeing, depending on what transportation we figure out.

Fantastic 10.5km at lunch today - felt like I could have run forever :)

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

6.3 km trail run in neighbourhood. Very, very icy and my hip & thigh has a very large bruise forming from a big fall yesterday.

Trying to get back where I was before x-mas. Finished the old year/started the new with the annual family virus...no energy today, (at least I was upright!) but kept moving, running and walking, for 35 minutes. Now I need to read up on what all the Maniacs have been doing for two weeks!

First real day I'm back to work, I am under the weather... well, at least it did not ruin my vacation period
It may perhaps wreck my running streak ...

Yeah, tell me about it! There are some nasty gastro bugs going around southern Québec right now. Aren't we lucky!

Don't tell me this! I am heading for three weeks in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu starting on Sunday!

I will be on course and have no time to be sick (but I may be able to squeeze in a M&G on a weekend).

Hey Maniacs, what's new ?? :shifty:

After only about 3 hours sleep Sunday night ... I actually, slept in till about 9am this morning ... :? Well, I did wake up at my usual Goofy Time  :? but, just stayed in bed and eventually dozed off ...

I finally made it out of bed for an easy 5.1K / 30 minute run, inside the resort, to shake out the legs and get to know my surroundings ... Nice and balmy 55F at 9:00am and up to 71F as the high for the day ... though, with a bit of an overcast today ... Looking good for race weekend, so far, and hope it stays that way ...

Will definitely hit the Park tomorrow ...

Sore after yesterday's 20k impromptu run. Did 500m in the pool, which is a lot for me. Will try to do a run later on the TM.

Back to work indeed....ugh

5 km after work. It was getting cold and getting dark and I thought it would be a lot easier to keep on driving all the way home. But I stopped at the lake and ran around it - and there were all kinds of other crazy people running there too! :D It was great :D

Those are some great back to work workouts, Maniacs!

Swam 1700m in the pool this AM and dragged my tired butt outside for a 50 min tempo run at lunch. I really wasn't feeling the running today but got 'er done one interval at a time. The Rideau Canal route that I usually do was snow-covered but wasn't slippery. :)

More like sore throat which leads to the run down feeling...

11.6K on the trails around work. An inch or two or snow with some ice underneath at times made for an interesting run. That may be the last run on those for a while....

That sounds suspiciously like a double, which it is, but only because I'm trying to squeeze 50k in before taking the weekend off running to ski.

Done. 8 point something this evening for 13 point something total.

6 x 3 min intervals with 1.5 minute rest, plus warmup and cool down. All the hard stuff was sub 5 pace.
The road to hell is paved. Run trails.

8 people afterall, but a great group and it was fun. we did about 7km. :)
